Since childhood, I have loved various sports, especially running and Jeet Kune Do. When I entered university, I became a backpacker, calling myself 'Medical Road Backpacking.' While soaring freely under the blue sky of Inner Mongolia, I encountered my first marathon in life—the 2016 Bayannur International Marathon. Since then, I have become a marathon runner, running freely on the road of life...
Q: Today, let's talk about how you fell in love with running.
A: Sure. In my view, running is a free and unrestrained sport. As a child, I loved the sound of the wind passing by my ears, which made me fall in love with sprinting and the feeling of having invisible wings. Gradually, as I grew up, a series of confusions and loneliness followed. At that time, I discovered that running forward brought me endless joy. Then I became interested in marathons, thinking about surpassing myself. It truly fulfilled the saying, 'Life is not just about the present struggles, but also about the endless madness and marathons.'
Q: As a marathon enthusiast, Tang Shuai, you must have participated in many marathon events. Is there any event that left a deep impression on you?
A: Since I started preparing for marathons in July 2016, I have run seven offline marathons: Bayannur (Bayannur), Zhenjiang (Zhenjiang), Hefei (Hefei), Suzhou (Suzhou), Sihong (Sihong), Wuhan (Wuhan), and Yangzhou (Yangzhou). Of course, there are also many online events on Codoon, haha. Three events left the deepest impression on me. The first was my first attempt at an online Codoon run, where I ran from sunset to nightfall and was fortunate to finish, though I got two big blisters on my feet. The second was my first offline marathon in Bayannur, where the people were very enthusiastic, the sky was incredibly blue, and the finisher's medal was huge. The third was this year's Wuhan Marathon, my first time running in the rain. The local people were very supportive, and I remember an elderly lady cheering me on, shouting 'Keep going, Tang Shuai!'
