A: Hello everyone! My name is Li Wenyun, from Dali University in Dali, Yunnan. Seeing the outstanding achievements of the previous ministers in marathon running, I really don't deserve the title of 'running tiger.' In front of these great runners, I can only kneel in admiration. Looking at my own insignificant running achievements, I feel deeply ashamed. I love sports for their 'tolerance and selflessness.' As a growing runner, I am grateful to Brother Monkey for giving me this opportunity to show my face. Although my results are mediocre, my enthusiasm for sports is not lacking at all.
Q: Welcome, Li Wenyun. How did you fall in love with running?
A: My running experience can be summarized like a romantic drama. At first, I was very reluctant. In high school, running was my worst and most feared subject. I was terrified of it. I still remember collapsing on the track at Yunnan Normal University after an 800-meter test, thinking, 'I will never run again.'
In September 2015, I started my university life at Dali University. During the first semester of my freshman year, I was full of confusion and decadence. Apart from attending classes, I hardly moved, and my body gradually gained weight. An accidental run made me find the feeling I wanted. Maybe university life was too lonely, and I gradually began to enjoy the feeling of sweating on the track. From then on, I started to accept and gradually fall in love with running. While running, I felt the joy of deep breathing and gradually forgot the troubles of life and study.
Gradually, I progressed from running 3km, 5km, to 10km. From taking half an hour to run 3km to completing 10km in an hour and a half, I slowly broke through my limits and made small improvements. Finally, I could finish 10km in just over 40 minutes and run distances of more than 20km. After a year of running, I had the idea of experiencing a marathon. So, I signed up for the SCO Kunming Marathon on December 17, 2016, and the Ruili Marathon on December 25 of the same month. I participated in two half marathons with Codoon and successfully completed them with a time of 1:33.
Next, I started preparing to attempt my first full marathon and decided to dedicate my first marathon to the Dali International Marathon on May 20.
Q: Li Wenyun, achieving such excellent results in your first half marathon shows that you are very talented. How did you get acquainted with Codoon?
A: Speaking of 'Codoon,' I feel like it was a meeting that came too late. A few months after I started exercising, I encountered Codoon by chance. Gradually, my fascination with Codoon became unstoppable. On May 7, 2016, I used Codoon to record my first 10km. Its comprehensive sports functions and user-friendly operations are commendable and the main reasons I became addicted to it. Since then, I have fallen deeply in love with Codoon, as if falling in love.
Q: You've been talking about your story with Codoon. Now, please introduce your running group to everyone.
A: Speaking of the running group, I must thank Brother Monkey the most. She is my 'introducer to the group and has always been my mentor.' On March 3 this year, I established the first Codoon sports group at Dali University—Zan Running Group. From then on, we officially became a part of the Codoon campus club. Joining the campus club allowed me to meet many friends who love sports. Although our running group is still in its infancy, I believe that with the joint efforts of our group members, our running group will develop better and better and meet more friends who love running.
