codoon wenzhou running group environmental volunteer activity
Editor's Note: On April 30th, with the strong support and meticulous guidance of the Jingmei Environmental Volunteer Activity Center, the Codoon Wenzhou Running Group participated in the Daluo Mountain environmental volunteer activity as scheduled. At 8 a.m., volunteers started from Xitai'ao Village in Zhuangyuan Street, taking six hours to pass through Shansheng Temple, Zhuyun Pavilion, Luoshan, Daolong Pit, and Longgang, reaching Yaoxi Sixth Road Station. They covered a total distance of eight kilometers, collecting twelve large bags of garbage along the way, successfully achieving their set goals.
In the late spring morning, the sun rose early, dispersing the morning fog. By 6:15 a.m., enthusiastic runners had already arrived at the Xitai'ao gathering point. However, the instructors from the Jingmei Volunteer Center had been waiting there for a while, including a 78-year-old trail running enthusiast. The elderly man walks barefoot on this mountain path for ten kilometers daily, bringing down the garbage he collects along the way. We couldn't help but feel a deep sense of respect!
Before setting off, the instructors from the Jingmei Volunteer Center patiently and meticulously explained the activity rules and precautions, distributing tools for the event. Of course, everyone didn't forget to gather for a few joyful group photos.
Along the way, we continuously promoted environmental knowledge and concepts to passing tourists. I believe that with such dedication, even the most indifferent people would be enlightened. Some elderly people in the mountains recognized the staff from the Jingmei Volunteer Center and were happy to share their treasured Ou oranges with us. We heard from the older generation that Ou oranges, which ripen around the Dragon Boat Festival, are excellent for reducing internal heat and are highly valuable.
At noon, in the Yingke Pavilion of Luoshan, a few team members opened their hiking backpacks, and the aroma of food filled the air. Instantly, everyone's legs stopped moving. It was already noon, and with growling stomachs, we sat down on the ground, enjoying marinated food, fruits, and a little wine, feeling quite like Tao Yuanming.
Daluo Mountain is nature's most precious gift to Wenzhou. As long as we persist, more people will ensure that no trash is left behind, and more people will support and participate in environmental public welfare actions. Only then can Wenzhou's landscapes remain beautiful, and we can enjoy the wonderful leisure time in our city's backyard. Picking up a little more trash on the ancient mountain paths and contributing to environmental protection brings a sense of inner peace and reduces greed and anger.
