allianz global rescue employee health management for public welfare support

Allianz Global Assistance is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allianz Insurance Group in Germany, operating in 29 countries across five continents, providing world-leading services such as roadside assistance, customer relationship management, travel insurance, and medical assistance.

The year 2016 marked the thirteenth anniversary of Allianz Global Assistance in China. While providing help to customers and taking helping others as its mission, the company also organized a series of activities focused on employee health and combined them with public welfare, hoping to encourage healthy exercise among employees and convey humanistic care to more groups.

Starting in April, Allianz Global Assistance created a platform for nationwide company employees to exercise together in the Codoon Enterprise Club, launching a walking activity themed 'Love Health, Love Work, Love Public Welfare Even More.' During the preparation of the event, the organizers tested almost all team sports platforms available on the market, and found that Codoon Enterprise Club not only provided a platform for employees to record their exercise but also established a dedicated corporate exercise space. Managers could organize employee exercise activities according to different needs, and the leaderboard in the club greatly motivated employees' enthusiasm for exercise competition.

To encourage employees to join the club and participate in the activities, the organizers of Allianz Global Assistance thoughtfully gave small gifts like succulent plants to new members. Before the event started, they set up activity boards and display screens at the company front desk and other places to help employees clearly understand the event details. They also created exquisite promotional flyers that detailed the event information and participation methods. This meticulous promotion led to enthusiastic participation from employees nationwide, with two-thirds of the total employees joining the enterprise club before the event began.

Exercise may be monotonous, but Allianz Global Assistance made employees feel that their exercise efforts were extraordinarily meaningful. The rankings were no longer about fame or the value of prizes. In the event, as long as each participant's cumulative walking steps reached 10,000 steps, they could earn 1 yuan for the public welfare fund. After the competition, the company would total the steps of all participants over 14 days and donate to public welfare organizations (Beijing Morning Light Cerebral Palsy Center and Chengdu First Welfare Institute) at the rate of 1 yuan per 10,000 steps. Not only individuals but also the top five teams with the highest average steps per person would receive the title of 'Most Caring Team,' and the company would donate 2,000 yuan to the public welfare organization in their name.

Through the Codoon Enterprise Club, Allianz Global Assistance conveyed the power of exercise to employees, showing that team building and team benefits are no longer limited to eating, drinking, and entertainment. Exercise can make the team more cohesive and make team building more meaningful.
