codoon god cycling fifteen years not about speed and passion
After watching the movie 'To the Fore' starring my idol Eddie Peng, weren't you all impressed by their handsome cycling skills? Whether it's the main attacker with incredible explosive power or the domestiques who bravely pave the way for them, their dashing performances in the intense and brutal races are sure to get your blood pumping!
So, this week's star feature is about a cyclist from the American Colavita-sponsored cycling team, who is none other than our famous Codoon cycling guru @HappyCyclist.
The first time I saw @HappyCyclist's sports circle, I was stunned by the various breathtaking bike and scenery photos. The key point is the handsome foreign guys in stylish cycling outfits (okay, that's what really stunned me). Many Codoon friends don't know his real name and affectionately call him Uncle. Alright, let's call him Cycling Uncle here!
Cycling Uncle isn't actually that old, around forty-five, which is the prime of a man's life. He immigrated to the United States with his family during middle school and now works for the U.S. government. He's been cycling for many years, starting back when there was no GPS, which means he's been at it for about fifteen years. His accumulated cycling distance has exceeded 150,000 kilometers. So, he truly deserves the title of a cycling guru! Standing at 1.82 meters, he has an admirable height, and he looks quite dashing in his cycling gear.
Uncle says cycling isn't as simple as ordinary people think. He started cycling due to a colleague's influence. The small city where they lived was surrounded by mountains, and the roads were winding mountain paths. He felt exhausted after just half a kilometer. It took him over an hour to cover four kilometers, pushing and riding, to reach the top. On the way down, due to lack of technique, he flew off the bike and ended up covered in blood. But this experience made him feel the thrill of cycling, and he gradually fell in love with it.
Men love the thrill of speed, so in recent years, Cycling Uncle has also fallen in love with road racing. Although he has fallen countless times, the most serious being when his helmet shattered, requiring seven stitches on his face, and causing minor fractures in his jaw and thumb. He says the scariest experience in his years of cycling was riding up a high mountain in Los Angeles. The temperature was pleasant at the base, but it dropped sharply and started snowing at the top. His hands were numb from the cold, and because the snowy road was slippery, he had to warm his hands by his mouth every few seconds to maintain control of the bike. He rode thirty kilometers downhill in this state.
After hearing Cycling Uncle's story, I admire cyclists even more! It's wonderful to be able to persist in your passion despite the dangers!
