A week before the Guangzhou Marathon, the running circle was buzzing with information. My goal for 2019 was to run 10 full marathons, but I ended up running 20 of various sizes. I completed 15 full marathons. I was planning to withdraw from the Guangzhou Marathon, but seeing their messages made me itch to join. I didn't respond because of work pressure and an upcoming exam. After much deliberation, I decided to go. After all, it's not easy to meet everyone.


Then came an unforgettable first: I took a 20-hour train ride for the Guangzhou Marathon, leaving after work on Friday and arriving Saturday afternoon.


They say people who smile often have good luck. I arrived in Yangcheng smoothly on Saturday afternoon. This was my second time running the Guangzhou Marathon. Yiyi picked me up, and then we went to collect our race materials. The process was still as efficient as ever, done in three minutes. Next, you can guess what we did! We met up with my fun friends. Mu Dao told me to touch his down jacket, while Wu Zei was wearing a tank top, highlighting the north-south difference. Of course, we took photos, drank tea, and ate Cantonese food.







Seeing this group of lovely 'online friends' made me so happy. Well, the meetup ended, and we moved on to the second event. If you come to Guangzhou and don't have morning tea, you haven't really been to Guangzhou. We went to Dian Dou De to enjoy some delicious food and, of course, to post on social media.


I just want to ask, Nuo Nuo said she wants to set a personal best (PB) tomorrow, but we can't stop eating. Other runners watch their diet the night before a race, but we're indulging. It seems like PB has nothing to do with us. Anyway, eating well makes us feel at home.




Alright, alright, I promised to run with Nuo Nuo and not let Wu Zei catch up, so let's stop eating and go home to rest. After all, I seem to be staying at Nuo Nuo's place. Don't get any ideas; we're just getting up together to run in the morning.


Woohoo, here comes the wind-like tough girl. The rain is heavy, and there are many photographers. Wow, so much good food. Wait, Nuo Nuo is still eating. She won't be able to PB if she keeps eating, so I turned back and dragged her away from the food.


Luckily, we finished in 3:48. Although it wasn't perfect, Nuo Nuo set a PB. Let's take a happy finish line photo. Look, there's even the goddess Julie!
