2019 yichang marathon memoir my first time as a medical runner
October 27th was the race day for the 2019 Yichang International Marathon. On this day, I carried an important mission—participating in the race for the first time as an emergency runner. Marathon results are just a form of glory, but the volunteer spirit of 'everyone for me, I for everyone' is more meaningful and weightier.
Yichang, a pleasant city and a prosperous land. I have participated in every Yichang Marathon, and my performance has improved each time. Each race offers a different experience, and I clearly feel the changes the event brings to me personally and to those around me. This is closely related to the development of Yichang city. The city's economic and cultural progress is evident, and the enthusiasm of all citizens to participate in sports activities is continuously rising. The city's development plan incorporates the spirit of sports, with more and more places like riverside greenways and forest parks being created for citizens to relax and exercise, and the supporting resources are becoming more complete. In Yichang, the atmosphere for running is becoming stronger, and my love for the city grows day by day.
The autumn sky is high and the air is fresh, with the fragrance of osmanthus flowers! Yichang is exceptionally beautiful in late autumn. The race track after the rain, apart from the rhythm of running, adds a sense of tranquility and remoteness. Falling in love with Yichang starts with the Yichang Marathon.
A race with more than 20,000 participants tests the comprehensive coordination ability of the event organizers and the openness and inclusiveness of the city. This year, I am an emergency runner for the Yichang Marathon. Three months before the race, I participated in a professional first aid volunteer training organized by the Hubei Charity Federation and obtained a first aid volunteer certificate.
The day before the race, I received a professional first aid kit issued by the First Protection and participated in pre-race training. During the race, I followed the requirements of an emergency runner, carrying the first aid kit, wearing a uniform, and running on the track at my own pace, becoming a mobile emergency runner. I am pleased that the entire event was safe and orderly, and I only provided spray services to several fellow runners along the way.Although I didn't achieve a personal best (PB), it was gratifying to serve fellow runners. I look forward to more opportunities to participate in event services in the future, experiencing more joy that marathons bring from different perspectives.
