anti drop in ear never fall out mifo o2 wireless earbuds
Preface
Since the launch of AirPods, they have led the global development direction of wireless Bluetooth earphones, making true wireless the mainstream.
Breaking free from the constraints of wires and moving towards true wireless, especially for sports earphones, is more suitable for true wireless style. Without the constraints of wires, one can easily get into action.
Most of the true wireless Bluetooth earphones on the market currently adopt an in-ear structure. This design is mainly to improve sound quality and prevent falling off. The design of AirPods is somewhat unconventional, more like flat-head earphones, and has poor anti-slip properties, making them very easy to lose! You might not even know when you lost them.
The in-ear design fits the ear canal well. The earphones form a closed loop in the sealed ear canal, allowing the earphones to go deeper into the ear canal, enhancing sound quality and anti-slip properties.
Of course, in-ear earphones also have their drawbacks for sports. They can be affected by sweat, have a risk of falling off, and long-term wear can affect hearing. The good sound insulation of in-ear earphones can make people easily ignore safety, especially for night runners who wear in-ear earphones while running on the road, which is very unsafe.
There is also a type of semi-in-ear sports earphones on the market, which balances the comfort of flat-head earphones and the sound quality performance of in-ear earphones.
Recently, Langke experienced a pair of semi-in-ear true wireless Bluetooth earphones - Molang mifo o2.
The biggest feature of these earphones is the original reverse buckle semi-in-ear design by mifo. The so-called reverse buckle semi-in-ear design relies on ergonomic design to optimize the three-point support at the entrance of the ear canal, ensuring the earphones stay securely in place even during intense exercise.
Unboxing Overview
The mifo o2 I got is in black and red color. The packaging box is quite stylish and has a good texture. The product effect picture on the packaging shows the sporty style of the black and red earphones.
The back of the packaging provides a brief introduction to the product functions in both Chinese and English.
The inner box page is printed with a quick operation guide and earphone control methods. The mifo o2 supports dual-ear touch control, double-tap to play/pause, and also supports answering and hanging up calls. However, switching songs can only be controlled on the phone.
The internal accessories include the mifo o2 earphone case, manual, warranty card, and data cable. Since these earphones use a reverse buckle design and do not need to go deep into the ear canal, there are no silicone ear tips included in the package.
Appearance and Material
The mifo o2 battery case has a matte texture with corrugated design, providing a good grip and preventing slippage even when sweating.
The battery case uses a 1200mAh lithium battery, providing a total of 30 hours of battery life with the earphones, which have a battery life of 4 hours.
The overall battery life performance is very good, and the charging speed is also fast, taking about two hours to fully charge.
The mifo o2 earphones are made of two materials. The outer side of the earphones has a piano lacquer texture, similar to electroplating, giving a high-end visual appearance. However, they feel a bit slippery in the hand, and since they are quite small (each earphone weighs only 4g), there is a chance of slippage when taking them out of the battery case.
The ear nozzle part is made of red TPD soft rubber material to fit the ear canal and prevent pressure and swelling. Pinching it confirms that it is indeed soft rubber, so there is no need to worry about accidental scratches.
The unique reverse buckle design of the mifo o2 provides a great fit. Langke's running and sports tests showed that the mifo o2 never fell off, even when soaked with sweat, which is a plus.
Additionally, the mifo o2 supports IPX5 waterproof rating, which is sufficient to handle daily sports without fear of sweat.
Connection and Sound Quality
For the first use, you need to remove the plastic film on the magnetic contact points of the mifo o2 battery case and earphones, then place the earphones in the case to activate them. After ten minutes, take out the earphones, and they will automatically search for Bluetooth devices. Search for mifo O2 on your phone's Bluetooth and connect to use, either ear can be used.
The mifo o2 uses Bluetooth 5.0 technology, supporting a transmission distance of 20 meters without obstacles. This means that in open areas without obstacles, the signal transmission is stable up to 20 meters. However, in indoor environments with many obstacles, the transmission distance may be slightly affected, but not significantly.
The mifo o2's audio uses a custom 13mm composite diaphragm dynamic driver unit. The sound quality of these earphones is clear and powerful with rich details in the mid and high frequencies, though the low frequencies are a bit weak. They are typically suitable for listening to vocal and pop music.
The mifo o2 uses DSP intelligent dynamic noise reduction technology and high-quality microphones, making it very convenient for listening to music and making calls. With a wireless transmission distance of up to 20 meters, you won't miss any calls.
Additionally, the mifo o2 is simple and easy to operate. By tapping the left or right earphone, you can perform functions such as play/pause and answer calls. However, volume control and song switching still need to be done on the phone.
Summary of Pros and Cons
After two weeks of running and cycling tests, it feels like the mifo o2 is very suitable for sports use.
Pros: The mifo o2 is compact and stylish. The reverse buckle design balances the sound quality of in-ear earphones and the comfort of flat-head earphones, making the mifo o2 highly practical for both sports and daily use.
The long battery life of up to 30 hours means you don't have to constantly monitor the battery level. The mid and high-frequency performance is also good, making it suitable for listening to vocal and pop music.
Cons: Although the piano lacquer finish looks good, it lacks anti-slip properties and is prone to slippage. The damping design of the connection part of the earphone case needs improvement.
Overall, at a price of 299, these earphones are highly recommended.
