Running has its own way. 'Once you enter the running circle, it's as deep as the sea; you'll work your whole life for marathons.' At some point, Rainbow Brother JC, who was an art student, started running. He fell in love with running, progressing from struggling to walk 5 kilometers to completing his first marathon in 3 hours and 13 minutes. He grew through constant personal bests, and running unknowingly changed his life trajectory.

In December 2015, by chance, he and a few friends signed up for the first half-marathon event in their hometown.
To prepare for the event, he decided to start running. Without any experience, he ran 12 kilometers on the road in high-top basketball shoes, which left his legs feeling heavy and his feet injured for a week.
But he didn't give up. Once he set a goal, he wouldn't stop until he achieved it. With only half a month left until the event, he started learning about running scientifically, including warm-ups and stretches. Gradually, his body adapted, and he even enjoyed the feeling of sweating profusely. Day by day, he trained, and soon the first marathon arrived.
To everyone's surprise, he completed his first half-marathon in 1 hour and 49 minutes after running for less than a month. This boosted his confidence, and he became completely addicted to running.
To improve his performance, he often ran to the airport alone in the early morning. Some friends questioned him, saying:"Are you crazy for running so much?"He always replied with a smile:"Running has become a part of my life."
He then joined running group activities and gained a group of like-minded running friends. One person can run faster, but a group can run farther. He was no longer alone on the road of running, and he became more and more addicted to it.

By the second half-marathon event, he had successfully run under 1 hour and 30 minutes. Unsatisfied, he signed up for the Suzhou Taihu Marathon to challenge his first full marathon.
While preparing for the event, he tried running 30 kilometers alone in the early morning. It was his first attempt at long-distance running, and he realized how far and difficult a full marathon was. But he gritted his teeth and persisted because he had set an unrealistic goal for himself—to finish his first marathon in under 3 hours.
As the race approached, he went to Suzhou alone, entered the track alone, and competed alone, all to achieve his goal.
After the race started, he felt relaxed and even achieved a personal best of 1 hour and 25 minutes in the first half. However, he gradually slowed down because he had hardly trained for long distances, and his body wasn't used to it. He began to hit the wall, and his pace dropped to 6 minutes per kilometer. In the last few kilometers, accompanied by the biting cold wind of December, he felt frozen and wanted to give up."Why did I come to run a full marathon? Why am I putting myself through this pain? Why am I persisting while hungry and tired?"
But he was not one to admit defeat. He kept encouraging himself and ran step by step to the finish line without stopping to walk. He finally completed the marathon in 3 hours and 13 minutes. Although he didn't achieve his goal of finishing under 3 hours, he was very satisfied.

He was fortunate to become an official 3:55 pacer at the 2017 Wuxi Marathon. Pacers are considered 'moving stopwatches,' not only needing to maintain a steady pace to achieve the finish time but also willing to share their experience with other runners and help them achieve their goals.
To fulfill this task well, he participated in training before the race, but his lingering iliotibial band injury made him a bit worried.
After the race started, he ran at a steady pace until halfway, when it suddenly started to rain heavily. His old injury flared up, forcing him to let go of the pace balloon and move forward step by step with difficulty. The increasingly heavy rain soon caused him to lose body heat, and he shivered from the cold. He walked for three hours in the second half and was cold for three hours, finally finishing in 5 hours and 20 minutes.
This time, because he didn't fulfill his duties well,he was filled with regret and guilt.
Fortunately, not long after, he had the opportunity to be the official 2:15 pacer at the Shanghai Half Marathon. With his injury healed, he maintained a steady pace from start to finish, helping other runners achieve their goals within the scheduled time and leading them to the finish line, successfully completing the task.

He said that running is really addictive. Long-distance running makes the body feel excited, and long-term persistence makes a person's overall spirit very positive.
Because of marathons, he also became a coach at Runbase in Shanghai's Riverside, which was unexpected for him as an art student.
Being able to train with everyone makes him feel very satisfied. Even though the training process is tough, the happy smiles on everyone's faces and their recognition of him give him a lot of motivation to do his job better.
In the 2017 Adidas Summer Training Camp, he and three teammates ran with a 20-pound load, successfully setting a new Guinness World Record for running 58.9 kilometers on a treadmill in one hour. Before the challenge, he was worried that his old injury might recur and ruin his teammates' efforts, but he persisted and successfully completed the challenge.
Looking back on more than a year of running experience, he seems to have become a professional runner. He said:
"Running is like an imaginary friend. During the run, you talk to it, and it makes you feel like a superhero, capable of doing anything. After the run, you dare to take the first step towards things you once feared to imagine or do. Dreams may still be far away, but they are one step closer."
