close the door stranger please give me a lanzhou
Lanzhou was an important town on the ancient Silk Road. During the Western Han Dynasty, a county was established here, and it was named Jincheng, meaning 'a city as solid as a gold soup pool.' In the early Sui Dynasty, it was renamed Lanzhou.
A bowl of beef noodles (Yellow River) divides Lanzhou into two parts, north and south.

After traveling through the clouds of Tao and the grass of Long, the road to Lanzhou is at the edge of the world.
Who would believe that the westward journey starts here, one layer of heaven after another.
A spontaneous trip
Shenzhen to Lanzhou
In my heart, Lanzhou is a place I really want to visit, but after eating and drinking, I want to leave. (Because I'm too full and drunk)
Seeing the Yellow River
In June 2017, because of the line in 'Miss Dong': 'Stranger, please give me a Lanzhou.'
I participated in the Lanzhou Marathon, and now it's been three consecutive years.
(Lanzhou locals will correct you: 'There is no Lanzhou Ramen in Lanzhou; we call it Lanzhou Beef Noodles.')
Hainan doesn't have Hainan Chicken Rice, and Lanzhou doesn't have Lanzhou Ramen. This is the first lesson for outsiders visiting Lanzhou.

'Using running as an excuse to travel (eat and drink).' If it weren't for the charm of the marathon, how could I come back every year?
This Zhongshan Bridge has spanned the Yellow River in Lanzhou for 110 years, witnessing the changes of time. Standing on the bridge and looking down at the rushing Yellow River water, it feels like time flies. This is my third year visiting.
The scene for collecting race materials on May 31 was orderly, taking about 10 minutes to complete. The fitting area set up also reflected the organizing committee's better service attitude towards runners.
The expo was moved to the convention center, becoming more professional. Many sports products usually seen online could be tried in person (like the fascia gun I've always wanted to get).

This time, I was honored to be an official pacer for the Lanzhou Marathon again, and being on the wall means my friends will have fun with me.
Running circle rumor: 'If you bow to Dao Ge, you won't be closed out.'
Before every marathon, I have to meet those who run on WeChat, post on Weibo, and chat on Codoon. Every marathon is a big meetup for online friends.
Fate brings people together from a thousand miles away.
One Yellow River, one 'Reader' magazine, one bowl of beef noodles, one Lanzhou Marathon. This year's marathon theme: Chasing Dreams in Lanzhou. Couldn't have said it better.
Lanzhou's weather is unpredictable, sometimes cold and sometimes hot. After two days of drinking, I didn't drink the night before the race, but I still had insomnia as usual.
Usually, if I sleep for 8 hours, I reward myself with a 10KM run. With 4 hours of light sleep, I faced the 6 hours and 10 minutes of the Lanzhou Marathon—a tough battle.
My closing partner, Wuxi's Wang Xiaobai / Tianjin's Teacher Xiaoxing.
Before the race, a friend asked with concern: 'Xiaobai, will you cry after this run? Is the lamb in Lanzhou delicious?'
Wang Xiaobai: 'Delicious!!! Where are we going to eat now?'
This time, Xiaobai didn't cry on the track. After returning to the apartment, she held her belly full of food and cried while leaning on the door to see me off.
(On the first day in Lanzhou, a local runner invited us for barbecue, ordered a lamb head, and seriously said it takes three people to finish one. Xiaobai finished one by herself, making the scene very awkward.)
June 2, 2019, the weather was cloudy and gradually overcast, the temperature was not high, and the Lanzhou International Marathon started as scheduled. After the gunshot, the road was wide, and there was no pushing.
An 8'46" pace is very slow, increasing the chances of meeting friends. Girls usually take photos together, while boys usually pat shoulders and give a 'hmm, you can't do it' smile before disappearing.
Last week's new female champion of the Dali 100 Trail Race, Ge Gelin, finished 105 kilometers with mountain climbing in 16 hours and 5 minutes...
The sign-holding girls at each kilometer have become the most memorable scenery of the Lanzhou Marathon. After meeting the sunny girl at the 10km mark, the sun gently pushed away the clouds, and its enthusiastic rays shone on both sides of the Yellow River.
With three years of Lanzhou Marathon experience, I was prepared with sunscreen, sports sunglasses, long-sleeve compression clothing, and proper sports protection.
As the temperature rose, by 25km, many runners around me had already collapsed. I maintained a steady pace, guiding them to reduce sun exposure by running along the roadside shade. In the scorching environment, the advantages of sports sunglasses began to show.
The human eye has a crystalline lens structure, which focuses and magnifies like a magnifying glass. Light passes through the eye, and the sun's heat focuses on the retina at the back of the eye. If the heat is too intense, the eyes will feel dazzled, and vision will blur, taking time to recover. Prolonged and intense stimulation can burn the retina, causing permanent vision damage. The sun's light contains enormous energy, and even a brief direct glance can be very harmful to the delicate eyes.
Wearing sports sunglasses while running outdoors in summer is not for show but to protect the eyes. Our eyes easily absorb ultraviolet rays from sunlight, and prolonged exposure can cause significant damage. Sports sunglasses can effectively block UV rays and avoid strong light stimulation.
A friendly recommendation for a domestic running sunglasses brand, POHINIX (not expensive, not expensive, not expensive).

Approaching the 40KM mark, the Zhongshan Bridge iron bridge began. Encouraged by the cheers of the spectators, I felt like a phoenix reborn. More and more photographers were on the track, and runners headed towards the finish line together under the sun.
2019 Lanzhou Marathon closing countdown.
This is the last 10 seconds of the 2019 Lanzhou International Marathon. We raised our hands together, step by step, approaching the finish line!
At 1:40 PM, the Lanzhou Marathon ended!
My third Lanzhou Marathon medal is in the bag! The challenge at an altitude of 1500m was indeed tough!
According to the data exported from my Garmin 645 watch, this closing pacer task was perfect. Waiting for the official results to be released.
I hadn't received the completion text message until the evening when I was transferring flights on my way back...
Zhihua Anfang timing system malfunctioned.
Such a result is simply unacceptable. No exaggeration, this is the third time I've experienced Zhihua Anfang losing my results.
The first time was the 2016 Yangling Marathon. After the race, I didn't receive my results or certificate. I emailed the organizing committee and was told there was an issue with the chip group. I complained to the timing company Zhihua Anfang, and they asked me to provide my Codoon track map and photos from the race, and they issued a replacement.
(If I hadn't brought my phone, hadn't used Codoon, and hadn't taken photos, the thought is terrifying...)
The second time was the 2017 Qingyuan Marathon. After the race, I didn't receive my results or certificate. I complained to Zhihua Anfang, and they said I wore two chips, causing data loss.
(After looking at the race photos, I remembered there was indeed a chip from a race three months ago on my shoelace. But different timing brands and different sensing frequencies shouldn't have affected it, right?)
I still hope to get the results of my 60,000+ steps.
There may be regrets,
but I appreciate the Lanzhou Marathon organizing committee's compensation measures for the lost results!
Thanks to the running vitamin photographer: Wei Bin.
I sincerely hope that at the next marathon, I will see a slimmer me and a better you.
