Green mountains and clear waters, white clouds and sunny skies. At 7:30 AM on May 25, the 2019 Hebei Laishui Yesanpo International Half Marathon and Healthy China Marathon Series kicked off grandly at Bailixia Square in Yesanpo, Laishui County. 4,500 runners enjoyed a dual visual and spiritual journey as they ran through natural canyon tracks, crossing mountains and rivers, experiencing the wild horse natural ecology, and relishing a lung-cleansing marathon journey.
The event was hosted by the Chinese Athletics Association, People’s Daily Online, Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, Baoding Municipal Government, and Laishui County Government. It was organized by the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau Athletics Management Center, Hebei Marathon Association, Baoding Sports Bureau, and Laishui County Education and Sports Bureau, with assistance from the Yesanpo Management Committee of Laishui County and operated by Zhongji Sports.

The Yesanpo Marathon is a must-attend event every year for the Baoding Mei Shuai Running Club! This year marks our third time participating as a team!
The participants included veteran runners who have joined the Yesanpo Marathon for three consecutive years, as well as new members who are participating for the first time. Everyone meticulously prepared and trained hard to greet this most beautiful course with their best condition!
Running wild on the course
21.0975 kilometers, a long road that we measure step by step with our feet! There is sweat, fatigue, and moments of wanting to give up. But with faith in our hearts and the care and encouragement of teammates around us, we find strength in our steps again! At the finish line, the eager eyes and warm hugs of waiting teammates make all the hardships vanish!
We don’t seek speed or competition! We just want to show our heartfelt smiles and happiest states when facing the photographers!

Behind every beautiful medal is a drop of our sweat. Without effort, there is no reward! The marathon not only gives us a healthy body and perfect physique but also brings us joy and introduces us to more like-minded friends!
Every race is an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and deepen understanding. Roasted lamb ribs, stewed chicken, tasting Yesanpo’s special wild delicacies, drinking heartily, and leaving our laughter by the Juma River!
The race is over, but every bit of Yesanpo will be deeply engraved in our minds, becoming the most beautiful memory!
