30 cities light up blue ocean with codoon city running team

On April 2, 2016, at 19:00, Codoon city running groups and campus clubs in 30 cities across the country started running simultaneously. The national public welfare joint running event, Running Together 'BLUE FUN Show Your Blue Style,' officially kicked off. It was the first time that so many running groups gathered to participate in a public welfare action. Everyone's enthusiasm and actions were very touching.

2016 Running Together 'BLUE FUN' Thank You Card

Since 2008, April 2 of each year has been designated as 'World Autism Awareness Day.' This year marks the eighth year. According to statistics, at the beginning of the 21st century, there were 13 million children with autism in China, and the global number of autism patients has reached 67 million. The number of autism patients is showing a significant upward trend. Due to unknown causes and the fact that it is incurable, social problems caused by autism are becoming increasingly prominent, attracting high attention and concern from all sectors of society.

On April 2, 2012, AUTISM SPEAKS, the world's largest autism science and advocacy organization and the largest autism non-profit organization in the United States, called on countries worldwide to light up blue lights on landmark buildings to raise awareness of autism. By 2014, more than 1,400 landmark buildings in 136 countries across six continents had lit up blue lights for this cause. On April 2, 2015, Running Together first united 40 running groups nationwide to initiate the 'Light It Up Blue' public welfare joint run. This year, on April 2, 2016, Codoon city running groups also joined in, along with Running Together, to call on everyone to pay attention to children with autism, detect it early, treat it early, and correctly understand autism.

In addition to the running groups in the photos above, many runners privately messaged 'Codoon City Meet' to sign up. However, due to the limited number of cities covered this time, many runners initiated running activities in their cities to silently support the cause with their actions, conveying strength step by step.

After this 'Blue Action,' we are even more determined to continue. Perhaps all we do is gather everyone to run together under one flag, but it is precisely because of our every action and every concern for this world that more people understand autism and the planet we live on. We hope that on the road to the future, we can continue to move forward hand in hand, using our unique way to tell those around us to cherish and love more!
