codoon smart wifi body fat scale your personal fat loss expert

With the improvement of people's living standards, more and more Chinese people are paying attention to their health. At the same time, with the progress of social technology, there is more technical support for measuring health indices. Stimulated by demand and guaranteed by technology, body fat scales have emerged. It can be said that the appearance of household body fat scales has provided great convenience for measuring daily body parameters, and the era when we needed to spend a dollar to find a height and weight machine in our childhood is gone forever. Of course, the booming market has also brought more competition. Personally, I have previously encountered several products including the Phicomm S7, the Wole i90 Bluetooth smart body fat scale, and the Xiangshan weight scale.

The well-known smart app in the fitness circle, Codoon, has developed a series of Codoon smart products after long-term technical accumulation and progress, covering almost all categories of smart products from running shoes, headphones, jump ropes, treadmills to today's body fat scales. The biggest advantage of a platform like Codoon is that it provides supporting services that are hard for similar products to match. For example, we can use the Codoon app to record running tracks and provide training courses, use Codoon smart running shoes to record running posture, use Codoon smart Bluetooth headphones to record running heart rate and listen to music, and use Codoon smart body fat scales to feedback exercise effects. This will be a healthy and effective ecosystem.

This article mainly shares observations and usage experiences of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale, comparing it comprehensively with several products I have used before, hoping to provide some references for Codoon friends in purchasing body fat scales. Thanks to Sister Guan for the opportunity and thanks to Codoon for providing the review opportunity.

1. Appearance and Details

First is the outer packaging. When the courier arrived, a line of information on the courier slip caught my attention.

Yes, 'Codoon Guangzhou Warehouse'. Codoon friends may know that Codoon's headquarters is in Chengdu, Sichuan, while the OEM manufacturer Xinyu Electronics is located in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. If the finished product is shipped from Zhongshan to Chengdu and then from Chengdu to various parts of the country, neither Codoon's own logistics costs nor the efficiency of Codoon friends receiving the goods would be ideal. However, a setup like 'Codoon Guangzhou Warehouse' effectively solves this problem. Of course, I am not very familiar with Codoon's product warehouse layout. If there are product warehouses in hub areas like Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Xi'an, it would be fantastic.

The shipping outer packaging is a simple bag, so the packaging box looks somewhat damaged at the corners. However, the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale inside the box is intact due to the protection of the inner box.

The scale body is wrapped in a thin film bag. It is puzzling that the text warning to keep away from children and prevent ingestion is entirely in English. Given the Chinese description on the outside of the box, it is clear that this product is not entirely for export. Therefore, I personally think it would be more appropriate to translate the text on the thin film bag into Chinese.

The charging cable is struggling to survive in the 'crack'.

The Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale uses a universal USB 2.0 interface cable, so there is no need to worry about losing the charging cable.

The 'family portrait' of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale.

Next, let's take a closer look at the scale body.

The Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale uses ITO metal coating technology to embed the ITO metal film on the tempered glass surface of the scale body. The presentation effect of the ITO metal film is not good under daylight, so let's look at a picture of the scale body under the light at night.

As shown in the picture above, the four leaf-shaped components with relatively darker colors are the ITO metal film. By contacting the foot surface on it, the data signals are aggregated to the electrodes and then analyzed and calculated according to the algorithm, finally feeding back the specific parameters of the body to Codoon friends.

This technology is also used by the Wole i90 mentioned earlier, but not by the Phicomm S7.

As shown in the picture above, the Phicomm S7 requires the feet to be placed on the electrodes selected by the red frame to collect body data (this is the technology used by the previous generation of Codoon body fat scales). If there is not good contact with the electrodes (for example, if the feet are placed in the 'white area'), it is easy to fail to collect data or collect inaccurate data. In comparison, the ITO metal film of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale has a larger data collection area.

Then let's look at the back.

The edges of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale are rounded, and the protective protrusions on the outer edges of the bottom support feet are also very well designed. The entire scale body is not easy to cause scratches to Codoon friends during use, and the workmanship is exquisite, making it look more comfortable.

The design of the support feet allows for a certain degree of rotation, making it adaptable to different quality surfaces.

The rough surface design of the contact surface of the support feet makes the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale more protective for users on smooth surfaces (such as tiled floors).

One side of the scale body is the USB interface and the reset button. In terms of data collection and charging methods, the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale uses WiFi + Bluetooth + charging, the Phicomm S7 body fat scale uses WiFi + charging, and the Wole i90 body fat scale uses Bluetooth + battery. Charging is of course much more convenient than using batteries, which is beyond doubt. However, I think the WiFi + Bluetooth mode has some unsuitable scenarios (for example, my home in the remote mountains only got broadband installed a few days ago, and the WiFi is connected). If a model that can synchronize data to the Codoon app using only Bluetooth could be developed, I think it would be great.

The connection between the tempered glass layer and the bottom ABS plastic layer of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale is very well done.

2. Playing and Testing

1. Scale surface size comparison experiment. The scale surface size comparison is between the Wole i90 body fat scale and the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale, using my 'fat' big feet on the scale for comparison (please ignore my fat body).

In terms of scale surface size, the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale is better than the Wole i90. The scale surface size of the Wole i90 is 260mm × 260mm × 20mm, while the scale surface size of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale is 330mm × 280mm × 28mm. It can be seen that when using the Wole i90, it is difficult for the foot surface to stay on the scale surface, which may cause inaccurate data collection, while the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale does not have similar problems.

2. Pressing experiment. Next, let's look at the connection between the tempered glass surface and the ABS plastic back layer.

As shown in the picture, it can be seen that the tempered glass surface and the ABS material back layer of the Wole i90 are not well fitted.

The Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale does not have similar problems.

3. Scale foot fiddling experiment.

It can be seen that the scale feet can be rotated and pressed relatively freely, and the surface friction is also good.

3. App and Practical Operation

The Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale is used in conjunction with the Codoon app, which is a very big advantage of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale. Compared with the supporting apps of the Wole or Phicomm body fat scales, the Codoon app has a stronger platform attribute, which means that users will have stronger platform resource support advantages when using the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale. Modern society also has the need for functional centralization. For example, if you can use WeChat to chat, transfer money, and discuss work, who would bother to download seventeen or eighteen apps with the same functions on their phone?

Through a simple connection operation, the Codoon app can obtain 17 body-related parameters, each of which can be read in detail and improved accordingly. The improvement methods are provided by the Codoon app, such as a customized plan. For example, I have set a grand plan to lose 10kg.

Such a fat loss training plan, through a combination of aerobic exercise, core strength, and other categories, combined with a reasonable diet, who can say that Rome cannot be built in a day?

4. Summary

Overall, I personally think the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale has the following characteristics.

Advantages:

1. Excellent workmanship and friendly appearance;

2. The ITO metal coating process integrates the electrodes with the tempered glass, providing a good visual and user experience;

3. Convenient charging;

4. Powerful supporting app (Codoon app).

Disadvantages:

1. The text on the scale body film bag can be translated into Chinese;

2. A model that can obtain data only in Bluetooth mode can be developed;

3. A heating system can be added to the scale surface;

The Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale is priced at 299 yuan (269 yuan with a coupon on JD.com), which is between the 149 yuan of the Wole i90 smart Bluetooth body fat scale and the 599 yuan of the Phicomm S7. However, considering the workmanship, scale surface size, and additional functions such as an alarm clock and voice broadcast, I think the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale is worth the relatively higher price compared to the Wole i90. The Phicomm S7 has a unique feature compared to the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale, which is the scale surface heating function. I didn't feel this function was very important when using the Phicomm S7 before, but recently I went back home, and in the cold weather, stepping on the scale for evaluation almost took half my life. So I really hope that the next product of the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale can consider adding a scale surface heating system, making it 'April in the human world' in winter.

The above are my feelings about using the Codoon smart WiFi body fat scale. If there are any mistakes or omissions, please criticize and correct them.
