codoon smart fashion running shoes 10k running shoes pioneer experience review
Preface
This review is about the soon-to-be-launched Codoon New Smart Running Shoes 10K Fashion Edition, which is positioned as the first pair of running shoes for beginners. It has been half a year since the release of the previous generation 10K. What changes does the upgraded 10K Fashion Edition bring? How does it differ from Codoon's Half Marathon Running Shoes 21K and Racing Running Shoes 42K? Next, let's analyze and see the charm of this new 10K Fashion Edition.
Let's start with an unboxing video.
Unboxing Overview
The moment I opened the shoe box, I was amazed! I received a pair of flashy fluorescent green shoes! A few years ago, when I was a beginner just getting into running, I liked wearing brightly colored, flashy gear because it was eye-catching. Regardless of how well I ran, my gear had to stand out. Over the years, as I gained more experience in running, I gradually moved towards a minimalist style. My running gear choices also shifted towards a more subdued style, with my wardrobe now mostly consisting of black, white, and gray. The only bright color left is red. I think this is a sign of maturity. Since leaving the beginner stage, I haven't bought any fluorescent green running gear. I wonder if this middle-aged man can still pull off such flashy colors.
Compared to the old version, the Fashion Edition 10K is more stylish in appearance, with a larger logo design for higher recognition. It features a one-piece sandwich mesh upper design, with the stitching parts using hot-pressing technology to reduce seams. The traditional flat laces have good anti-slip properties, reducing the risk of coming undone.
The heel area uses a large TPU patch for support. For beginners, the lack of foot muscle strength can easily lead to poor running form. The addition of the TPU patch helps support and stabilize the running form. The inner heel is filled with thick, elastic sponge, which reduces friction risk.
A single 42-size men's shoe weighs 277 grams, which falls into the lightweight running shoe category.
The newly designed one-piece tongue of the Fashion Edition 10K uses a single-layer design. Without the padded sponge, will it feel tight on the instep? After a week of testing, the single-layer tongue fits the instep better, providing better wrap and avoiding the traditional tongue shifting to one side. I really like this tongue design.
The outer side of the toe has a 10 KILOMETRES badge.
To match these flashy fluorescent green 10K shoes, I dug out a fluorescent green skin jacket I bought a few years ago. Surprisingly, it matched perfectly!
Codoon designed a new RIPPLE CUSHION dual-density midsole for the new 10K. The heel and midsole joint use a low-density material for a soft and elastic feel, providing cushioning. The midsole uses a higher density EVA material, which feels harder than the 21K but not as bouncy as the 42K. The feedback during running is quick. If you are looking for a super soft feel, you might be disappointed, but it does have a foam box feel. Personally, I think a super soft feel is not conducive to stable running form, and this midsole is very suitable for beginners and heavier runners.

The outsole uses wear-resistant and anti-slip rubber material. The anti-slip performance is excellent, even on wet and slippery surfaces, better than the 21K and 42K. However, its wear resistance is slightly worse than the 21K and 42K. I have run nearly 70 kilometers in these shoes, including a half marathon distance. The outer heel area shows slight wear, which is acceptable considering a running shoe's lifespan is 600-900 kilometers.
Sports Testing
The smart chip is placed under the left insole. Simply open the Codoon app, add the smart device, and bind it. This chip helps record exercise data such as time, distance, pace, cadence, step length, landing method, ground contact time, etc. After running, sync the data to Codoon.
The chip's accuracy feels higher than my 21K and 42K. Compared to GPS sports watches, it is slightly less accurate because the shoe chip does not have GPS functionality. The algorithm is not as good as GPS, so it should be used as a reference.
The above image shows the data from the Codoon Smart Fashion Running Shoes 10K.

Anti-slip: ☆☆☆☆
The Codoon Smart Fashion Running Shoes 10K have a stylish appearance, comfortable wearing experience, and excellent support. They are very suitable for beginners as jogging shoes and for experienced runners as training shoes. Wearing heavier shoes during training can help improve performance.
I personally highly recommend them. They will be launched on Youpin crowdfunding on December 18th. Interested runners should keep an eye on it.
