after heartbreak fitness became my new lover for four years
Aymi Miye, because she looks a bit like Karen Mok, is called the 'Little Karen Mok' of the fitness circle by her fans...
I am not a professional coach; my main job is a teacher. I stumbled upon fitness by chance and couldn't stop since.I've been working out for almost four years now, and my physical condition has changed significantly. I'm grateful for the attention I've received.
I'm very happy to have the opportunity to share my fitness insights and changes today~
A breakup led me to fitness
Getting into fitness was quite unexpected.
At 26, I became single.
At that time, my parents were already urging me to get married, but I couldn't accept a cheating and abusive boyfriend, so I decisively chose to break up and started living alone.
The encounter with a scumbag and the breakup had a significant impact on me. Coupled with career setbacks, I was at a low point in my life, feeling empty and lost every day. It was almost like a nightmare because I didn't know how to get out of the predicament.
About a month after the breakup, I saw a friend showing off her abs on social media. It looked so cool! I thought, why can't I have abs too? So, Icouldn't help but ask my friend how she did it, and she gave me a simple answer: fitness.
Just like that, because of a photo of absand wanting to find something to divert my attention, that veryevening, I decided to start working out.
At that time, I never thought that an ordinary evening would be the turning point to change my life...
Clocking in consistently, regaining hope
I am a very action-oriented person. The next day, I went to the mall to buy running shoes and workout pants and started my fitness journey.
To be honest, when I first started working out, I didn't have much confidence in myself and was afraid I would lose interest quickly. So, to prevent my laziness from showing too soon, I made a decision:to clock in every day on social media!I wanted everyone on my social media to witness my fitness journey and help keep me accountable~
To my surprise, this method worked very well for me. On the first day of working out, everyone gave me a lot of encouragement. Every day after that, friends would cheer me on. From then on, I looked forward to sharing my workout photos on social media. No matter how tired I was after work, the first thing I did was take off my high heels, change into workout clothes, and go for a run. After running, I would lay out my yoga mat at home and continue with anaerobic exercises.
In the beginning, my muscles were incredibly sore, but after about half a month, I started to adapt to this state and stuck to working out every day without fail. Gradually, I began to emerge from the emotional low.I no longer felt aimless and gloomy as before; instead, I started looking forward to my daily workout time!
Changing diet, effective fitness
To be honest, I didn't start with a healthy diet when I began working out. I used to love meat and would have barbecue three times a week. I didn't like vegetables and fruits and never understood the fitness mantra:'Three parts exercise, seven parts diet.'
About three months into my fitness journey, I realized that although I had developed good exercise habits, the results were not very noticeable. So, I started researching fitness knowledge online and discovered how important diet is for fitness enthusiasts.
After learning this, I changed from eating whatever I wanted to having scheduled and portioned meals. I learned how much protein, carbs, and fats I needed, when to have snacks, how long before a workout to eat, and how long after a workout to take protein supplements. Occasionally, I felt guilty if I ate high-calorie foods. The foods I used to disdain, like bananas, apples, avocados, chicken breast, fish, broccoli, and carrots, all became my favorites.
Healthy eating changed my perspective on food dramatically. I used to eat whatever tasted good, but now I eat what's healthy. It completely overturned my 26-year-old perception of food. Gradually, my physical condition improved, and the eczema I used to get frequently became rare. Healthy eating and fitness significantly boosted my physical fitness.
Making plans, scientific fitness
Human desires always grow. When I saw some results from my fitness routine, I started setting stricter goals for myself. Initially, I just wanted abs, but later, I wanted a firm butt, so I added squats, hip bridges, deadlifts, and lunges to my training plan.
When I noticed my butt becoming firmer, I started feeling dissatisfied with other parts of my body. So, I began a full-body training regimen.
Since I wasn't financially well-off and couldn't afford a personal trainer, Ilooked for the videos I needed online, starting with simple bodyweight exercises. When I encountered problems, I asked friends with fitness experience for advice.
About a year later, I switched to gym training and started using equipment, beginning weightlifting. As I met more people in the fitness community and trained more myself, I was able to develop my own training plan.
Later, as more people followed me, many Codoon friends left encouraging messages. I realized thatyour efforts will eventually be noticed and make you shine.I started receiving messages asking about my training methods, and I was happy to share my fitness insights and tutorials with beginners. Sharing also helped reinforce my knowledge, so I was delighted to help others and even happier to see many people learn and stick to their goals.
Changing mindset, staying consistent
Many women feel they start to lose value after 25, but this is just a self-imposed limitation. If you think you're losing value, you've already denied yourself.
Fitness has brought me not only a change in mindset but also improvements in my inner temperament and appearance.Since I started working out, I feel that my overall condition has improved. People often ask if I'm just over 20, but I'm actually 29.
Fitness is one of the lowest thresholds for self-improvement, but many people fail soon after starting. Very few persist, indirectly proving the saying 'Everyone understands the principles, but few live a good life.' There aren't many who stick to it, but those you meet are definitely like-minded and share similar interests, so I will keep going!
Finally, I am very grateful for everyone's attention and support. We met through fitness and got to know each other through exercise. Let's become better versions of ourselves together and be our own source of positive energy!
