cps 分享会丨不用带设备就能去赛场拍摄的那些事儿
This article is not related to road running events but to photography.
Recently, I was invited to attend the Canon CPS communication meeting. As a member, I decided to check it out.
So, what is CPS?Good question!
Canon CPS is Canon's Professional Photographer Enhancement Service Plan.It stands for Canon Professional Services.Of course, Nikon has NPS, and Sony has SIPS, which are similar services.
So, what are the benefits of becoming a CPS member? You can use Canon professional photography equipment corresponding to your membership level for free. For example,In 2018, I was a Gold Card member, and I could apply to use Canon photography equipment like the 1DX and 400F2.8L.You can get your registered professional photography equipment cleaned and maintained for free. You get discounts on Canon after-sales repair fees corresponding to your membership level. You can also receive professional service information, attend communication meetings, and if your level is high enough, participate in trial use of prototype products. You can also purchase refurbished equipment at internal prices (possibly referring to nearly new products that have been repaired after factory quality issues).
Alright, Canon was very sincere. After signing in, they gave me a brand new SD card. What for? Of course, to test the equipment. A table full of cameras and lenses to use as you wish. Insert the card and shoot. Remember to take the card home after shooting!
So, with CPS, you don't even need to bring a card to the event to shoot. Is this really true?
I don't know, don't ask me. Just become a member and try it yourself!
How to become a CPS member? The conditions are as follows:Scan the QR code in the image to apply for membership (without a member referral, you might be at a disadvantage).
Canon CPS services are divided into event and daily services:Daily maintenance, upkeep, and purchase discounts.
You tell them where you want to shoot and what equipment you need, Canon prepares it for you, ships it to you, and then you shoot. After shooting, just return it to Canon. For example, if I want to shoot the Guangzhou Marathon, there is a CPS point in Guangzhou. Apply one or two weeks in advance, and just go. Once in Guangzhou, pick up the equipment, shoot, return it, take your data, and leave. How cool is that?
Alright, enough about CPS. Let's talk about the EOS R.This camera feels great in hand. This is the nth time I've used it, so I won't say much. This time, I mainly want to talk about the RF28-70F2L, which is about to go on sale.
That's right, this is the EOS R + RF28-70F2L lens. The lens is quite thick! I think it's much thicker than Canon's own 24-70F2.8LII.
Why call it a rogue lens? Have you ever seen a standard zoom lens with an F2 constant aperture and such high quality? That's why it's a rogue! But I like it! I like to look at it, but I can't afford it!
How's the performance? Take a look!
This shot was taken with the EOS R + 28-70F2L at 70mm, F2, ISO 640, 1/80s handheld.
Not enough? Then look at this.
Same equipment, ISO 400, 1/125s handheld. The depth of field is quite good, right?
This member, who specializes in shooting birds, is fiddling with this combo, praising it as he goes.
Let's look at it from another angle, thick!
Canon has also prepared an EF-RF adapter system for us EOS system users. There are reportedly four versions.
The picture shows the third-generation 70-200F2.8L lens with an adapter. Even with the adapter, the autofocus speed in sufficient light is not inferior to my 1DX2, in my experience.
These four versions are:Basic version,Multi-function control ring version,Filter slot version,Filter slot plus multi-function control ring version.
This ring, besides controlling the aperture, can reportedly also be customized for other functions, similar to the extra ring on the front of RF lenses compared to EF lenses.
Ah... I'm tempted!
Of course, there are more good things. There's also,This shot was taken with the EOS R + RF35F1.8 MACRO IS STM, wide open, handheld. It can basically outclass the 50F2.5 macro lens I have. Tempted again...
There are also lenses like the RF24-105F4L, which I won't introduce one by one. I believe you can experience them in physical stores, and some of you might have already bought and used them.
Of course, there's more good news. The new 428/540 is on the way and will soon be in the hands of our members. Hahaha! So happy!
Today, I'm not talking about events, just sharing some new equipment with everyone. So happy, so relaxed.
Almost forgot to mention, if you meet the requirements to apply for Canon CPS membership and want to join, you can contact me. There is a big difference between being recommended by a member and applying on your own. Don't come crying to me if you apply on your own and don't get the discounts!
