First of all, I would like to thank Codoon Smart Running Shoes 42K for helping me achieve my personal best in both half marathon and full marathon within just one month.
On October 7th, I participated in a half marathon while I was feeling unwell and had a cold. Surprisingly, I ran very smoothly on the track and finished sixth among women. It felt like flying!
Later, I participated in the 2018 Xi'an International Marathon wearing the Codoon Smart 42K and improved my personal best by 25 minutes. I never expected to break 3:30 with less than 200KM of running in a month. I was worried about slowing down later in the race, so I tried to control my pace, but I felt no discomfort at all. Previously, during the wall phase, my shoes felt heavy, but with the 42K, they felt incredibly light. I've had these shoes for just over a month, and both my half marathon and full marathon personal bests were achieved with the 42K.
Codoon introduced me to running and witnessed my growth as a runner. The Codoon Smart Running Shoes have helped me continuously improve my pace. I love the feeling of speed and presence. Every time I look back at my track map, it motivates me to keep going. Codoon has been with me through my growth, and I've witnessed Codoon's miracles, from the Smart 10K to the Smart 21K and now the Smart 42K. Today, let's talk about the innovations of the Codoon Smart 42K!
Runners know that speed-oriented athletes usually choose racing shoes with good elasticity and wrapping. After thorough exploration, Codoon finally launched the Smart 42K. I received my favorite pair in red, and now I'll tell you about its advantages.
① Unboxing
The outer packaging is in Codoon's signature green, with a simple and stylish design. The box lid only has the 'CODOON' logo, and the side is printed with the shoe size. When I opened the box, the rose-red shoes with white soles caught my eye, and I couldn't help but take another look.
② Design
The shoe upper is designed with a double-layer engineered breathable mesh and hot-melt film technology. The use of two materials creates a visually distinct rose-red color with varying shades, making the colors more pronounced. The hot-melt film extends from the upper to the heel, providing excellent wrapping and stability. In addition to the regular anti-kick design, the toe area has large anti-collision patches to prevent the toes from kicking through the upper during downhill runs. The entire design is very thoughtful.
③ Stability
The 42K has large TPU reinforcements at the heel. The most crucial part of a good running shoe is, of course, the sole. The Codoon 42K does not use the traditional EVA sole but instead features Codoon's self-developed Acmelight rebound sole. The forefoot and heel areas have added wear-resistant rubber patches, reducing weight while allowing the shoes to adapt to more complex terrains.
④ Lightweight
Runners know how important lightweight shoes are for achieving personal bests; even an extra gram feels burdensome. How light are the Codoon Smart Running Shoes 42K? Let me tell you, I chose size 38, although I usually wear size 37 or 38. Since I wore size 37 for the 21K, I wanted to try size 38. It was a bit large, but the wrapping was excellent, so it didn't affect my speed. Each size 38 shoe weighs 180 grams, making it the lightest among my current running shoes.
Never mind the smart chip for now; let's try them on first. These comfortable shoes made me want to go for a run immediately. I ran 9 kilometers near my home, intending to make it 10, but there were too many cars, so I stopped. New shoes need to be broken in before running long distances. I was worried the new shoes might cause blisters, so I warmed up for 2 kilometers before speeding up. As I ran, it felt like I was flying, but I had to slow down at red lights. After running 9 kilometers, I got home, and the new shoes didn't cause any blisters. They fit comfortably and didn't feel like I was running fast, but my speed was very stable.
It's said that the Codoon 42K shoes were designed and tested by a former Adidas and Nike designer. The shoe shape is suitable for Asians, with a snug fit on the instep and a loose but not too loose forefoot. So, even though I chose a larger size, it didn't matter. The tongue has an elastic storage pocket to prevent the laces from coming loose. The tongue design is oval, so there's no worry about low-cut socks causing ankle blisters.
As the maple leaves fall, the little red shoes run on the morning path, paired with my favorite Codoon socks. They stand out, exuding youthful energy, making me want to run freely and joyfully. I love this relaxed and carefree way of running.
⑤ How to Use the Chip
Since these are smart running shoes, the smart feature is essential. The Codoon Smart Running Shoes 42K have a built-in smart chip. Scan the code to bind it to the Codoon app. While you run, Codoon collects data through the smart chip and analyzes your cadence, stride, and gait, providing targeted feedback to correct poor running posture. For your next run, it offers more certainty. You can also enjoy exclusive full marathon training courses for the 42K shoes, providing personalized marathon training guidance during the preparation period, effectively improving speed. You can choose some strength training and complete half marathon and full marathon training courses, just like having a free personal coach, making every run an achievement.
The Codoon Smart 42K is truly impressive. Tested by an amateur runner, it's suitable for speed improvement.
