shocking! a famous influencer turned out to be a murderer who has been hiding for 23 years
Today, a report from the Dalian Daily has set the running community abuzz! The protagonist of the article 'Our City's Police Successfully Solve a 23-Year-Old Serial Rape and Murder Case' turned out to be none other than Yang, the owner of a sports store in Bayuquan. Many runners identified Yang, who ran a sports goods store in Bayuquan and was a well-known figure in the local running community. He was also active in various running groups across the country and was known for his high profile. Netizens even revealed that he had a history of using foul language and being rude to others.
After the news broke, many netizens discovered that Yang was in their running groups. An insider revealed that she had once added Yang on WeChat but later deleted him due to mutual dislike. Yang's WeChat signature included terms like 'coach,' 'middle and long-distance running,' and 'marathon.' His other social media signatures included 'Sanda and grappling,' 'teaching women's self-defense,' and so on. The insider left a word of caution: 'Remind all runners not to meet fellow runners casually. The forest is big, and there are all kinds of birds; you never know what kind of bird the other person is.'
The original report from the Dalian Daily is as follows:
At around 11 a.m. on October 10, three men walked into a sports goods store in the Bayuquan District of Yingkou City. After browsing the store, they told the clerk, 'We want to buy 100 pairs of sports shoes. Can you give us a discount?' The clerk felt a bit troubled and said, 'How about this, our boss is in the store right now. I'll call him out, and you can discuss it with him.' The clerk then went to the back room to call the boss. At that moment, the leading man rushed forward, pinned the boss to the ground, and shouted, 'Police! Don't move!' The other two men immediately stepped forward to control the store owner. These men were none other than the criminal investigation team of the Zhuanghe City Public Security Bureau, led by Captain Sun Xiuquan. The store owner, Yang (male, 54 years old, from Jilin Province), was a demon who had murdered four women. Thus, a 23-year-old cold case was finally solved.
Young women were repeatedly murdered, and a fingerprint left behind provided a clue.
From 1994 to 1995, Zhuanghe City was in a state of panic for a long time, especially among young women, who did not dare to go out alone or even stay at home alone. Their fear stemmed from a series of heinous murders: the victims were all young women aged 20 to 31, who were raped and brutally killed by the suspect.
On August 13, 1994, Zhuanghe police received a report that a female corpse had been found in a cornfield near a village in their jurisdiction. After investigation, the police confirmed that the victim was a 21-year-old woman named Yu, who had been missing for four days. At the scene, the police found a red women's bicycle that the victim usually rode. Under the seat, they discovered and collected a deformed fingerprint, which they believed belonged to the suspect. The police then conducted extensive fingerprint comparisons with over 5,000 individuals but were unable to find any trace of the suspect. The case gradually reached an impasse.
While the police were fully committed to solving the case, more bad news came: on August 3, September 2, and November 1 of 1995, three more murders occurred. Three young women in Zhuanghe City (Zhang, female, 18; Zhong, female, 31; Yu, female, 20) were raped and killed by the suspect. In just three months, three more murders occurred, with the methods being extremely cruel and the nature of the cases being particularly heinous. Through in-depth examination of the evidence collected at the scenes, the police concluded that the same suspect was responsible for all the crimes. However, there were very few clues to identify and expose the suspect, and the case made no significant progress. The police involved in the investigation hardly went home for meals for months, repeatedly analyzing the known clues, but the ruthless killer suddenly disappeared...
Fingerprint locks on the suspect, and the real culprit emerges after 23 years.
Generations of police officers worked on the case, and the investigation never stopped. With the continuous advancement of police technology, the police repeatedly checked and compared the suspect's fingerprints left at the crime scenes, conducting related investigations in collaboration with local police in other regions. Despite comparing fingerprints of tens of thousands of individuals, they were unable to find any trace of the suspect.
Until this July, during a special operation organized by the Ministry of Public Security to compare fingerprints from unsolved murder cases, Tao Guilan, a police officer from the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, rechecked and corrected the deformed fingerprint collected from the Zhuanghe crime scene 23 years ago, screening it nationwide. On October 8, the Criminal Investigation Brigade finally obtained a crucial clue: with the strong support of the Ministry of Public Security, it was confirmed that the suspect's fingerprint matched that of a suspicious person named Yang.
This 23-year-old cold case finally saw a breakthrough. After receiving the clue from the Criminal Investigation Brigade, the police in Zhuanghe City successfully located the suspect Yang in the Bayuquan District of Yingkou City. Captain Sun Xiuquan personally led the team to capture him. On October 10, Yang was successfully arrested in his sports goods store. After being brought in, Sun Xiuquan had police officer Wang Chengkai collect Yang's biological evidence, further confirming that Yang was indeed the suspect from back then. During the interrogation, Yang initially pleaded innocence, denying ever being in Zhuanghe City and claiming he had never committed any crimes. However, faced with irrefutable evidence, Yang's psychological defenses completely collapsed, and he confessed to the crimes of raping and murdering four women while working in Zhuanghe City in 1993. Yang is currently under criminal detention according to the law.
The successful resolution of the case is a testament to the dedication of generations of criminal investigators.
On October 11, when Captain Lü Jingdong and police officers Yang Yubin and Xu Shichao from the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Zhuanghe City Public Security Bureau took the suspect Yang to identify the crime scenes, local residents gathered to watch and applauded.
The police officers who worked on the case back then are now old and gray-haired, with many having been transferred or retired. Upon hearing the news of the suspect's capture, they called or even rushed to the Zhuanghe City Public Security Bureau to offer their congratulations.
On the afternoon of October 11, Sun Xiuquan received a call from an unknown number. When he answered, the person on the other end was sobbing uncontrollably: 'Thank you, police! My daughter's injustice has finally been redressed. Thank you so much...' This call was from the parents of the victim Yu. On the morning of November 1, 1995, 20-year-old Yu was found dead in the bushes outside the east wall of a factory in Zhuanghe Town.A 23-year-long battle between good and evil, marked by the relentless pursuit of justice by generations of police officers. Justice may be delayed, but it will never be absent!
