qingma fall in love with a city because a close friend lives there
I am Lin Haiyan, the supermom of Hu Haoran. I am Lin Haiyan, the 41-year-old girl who loves sports. I am the mom who advocates for the whole family to enjoy sports together. Exercise not only keeps you fit but also sharpens your mind, making children smarter. Less preaching and more leading by example can cultivate a child's habit of exercising. Let's all codoon together as a family!
1. Running a marathon requires a sense of ceremony
Which is more important, a child's physical health or academic performance?
I believe most people would answer: health comes first. However, in reality, we see too many children shuttling between various tutoring classes every day, learning English, math, musical instruments... and too many parents waiting for their children with their heads buried in their phones.
In the eyes of many parents, I might be considered 'incompetent' because I spend too much time 'playing' with Haoran and too little time studying. We run outdoors together, we travel spontaneously, and we enjoy homemade delicacies together. To me, a childhood filled with play and the cultivation of good exercise and study habits is far more important than academic performance.
The whole family bravely tackling the Qingdao Marathon?
That's right! Mom brings Hu Haoran, Dad brings the baby stroller, and the whole family mobilizes to tackle the Qingdao Marathon! I used to take Haoran to parent-child running events, but this time I want to try a new challenge and experience a real marathon with Haoran. Life needs a sense of ceremony, and a marathon is a runner's ceremony.
Why choose Qingdao for the first parent-child marathon?
Falling in love with a city is often because of the friends who live there. During the 2018 Codoon Running Girl Season 4 competition, the brothers and sisters of the Codoon Qingdao Yipao-Hiking Running Group were always there. That scorching summer, everyone ran together with full hearts, filled with emotion and positive energy! As a member of the running group, I am especially looking forward to participating in an offline event in Qingdao, to check in on-site (instead of virtually), and to hug each and every one of my running group siblings in person. Because of you, I fell in love with Qingdao! Let's ride the waves and move forward together in the Qingdao Marathon.
2. Parent-child running event
[Time]7:00 AM, October 27, 2018
[Location]Wangbu Primary School, Qingdao
[Event]Yipao-Hiking Running Group Parent-Child Run
Friends are already familiar with the sports videos and photos of Hu Haoran's mom and her family. This parent-child run will not only involve running with the kids but also include two parent-child sports competitions in the game segment.
[Competition Item One]'Sweet Burden,' carrying children if you have them, carrying wives if you don't, showcasing collective sweetness.
[Key Points]For better visuals, have the child sit on your back for photos. For the actual race, it's safer for the child to lie on your back.
[Competition Item Two]'Treasure in the Palm,' holding children if you have them, holding wives if you don't, showcasing collective sweetness.
[Key Points]When the woman is lifted, she should adopt a Bambi kneeling pose, maintaining a gap between her and the man for better visuals. The man should keep his back straight while lifting, and both should smile while exerting effort!
3. Codoon Heroes Meeting at Qingdao Marathon
[Time]2:00 PM, October 27, 2018
[Location]Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center
[Event]Codoon Heroes Meeting Qingdao Station
The Beijing Codoon Heroes Meeting at the Beijing Marathon feels like it was just yesterday, and now the Qingdao Codoon Heroes Meeting is here. I still clearly remember the Black Cat Goddess sharing a phrase at the Beijing Codoon Heroes Meeting: 'Those with firm glutes conquer the world!' It was a revelation! This time, I came to the Qingdao Codoon Heroes Meeting specifically to learn. The example set by the Black Cat constantly encourages me and reminds me to self-reflect!
The Codoon Heroes Meeting is like a large-scale Codoon friends' reunion. Thanks to Codoon for providing us like-minded individuals with such an opportunity to connect. At every Heroes Meeting, I get to see many new and old friends, which is incredibly exciting and joyful. There are also many old friends from Codoon whom I've never met in person but feel very familiar with. The moment we meet, we call each other's names. Besides the Black Cat Goddess, I also met the male idol Yan Zhiyou Li. The guests' sharing was very useful, the gifts at the venue were abundant, and the atmosphere was very lively. The three Codoon staff members were very warm-hearted. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next stop!
4. Stories from the Qingdao Marathon
At the Qingdao Marathon, Mom brought Hu Haoran, Dad brought the baby stroller, and the whole family mobilized to participate!
Before the race, I was a bit worried about the ups and downs of the coastal marathon course. Running uphill is tough for someone like me who usually runs on flat ground, but thankfully, Haoran cheered me on. Running downhill became easy, and I started sprinting, making Haoran laugh with joy. Life is like these ups and downs; you have to go through storms to see the rainbow! Whenever I face a low point in life, I remind myself to persevere because a surprise might be just around the corner!
During the race, I saw many wheelchair participants making their way step by step, especially struggling on the uphill sections. I was deeply moved by their spirit and wanted to help push them. Kudos to the Black Cat family members who were there to support and protect the wheelchair participants!
CCTV5 broadcasted the 'Running China' Qingdao Marathon live. Did you see our family running? If you did, please let me know because I haven't had time to watch the entire live video yet. Did you run into our family on the course? If you took any photos or videos of us, please send them to Haoran's mom!
Throughout the race, Haoran was great except for wanting to play on the beach when we passed by and getting a bit upset when he dropped his lollipop. When he got tired, he would sit in the baby stroller, eating his lollipop and cheering on other runners. He waved and greeted the staff, volunteers, and cheering citizens along the way. Haoran's cute 'leader-style' wave amused everyone.
[Friendly Tips]
1. Many marathons allow you to participate with a baby stroller (see race details). If you want to run a marathon with your child, go for it!
2. When running with a baby stroller, make sure to avoid other participants and stay safe. We always ran on the outermost part of the track.
3. Remember to bring suitable snacks and warm water for your child.
Wearing Codoon 21K running shoes, Hu Haoran's mom completed the half marathon in 2:39 safely. Although I didn't set a personal best, this was the most relaxed and enjoyable race I've ever run. Along the way, we received a lot of encouragement and blessings, and heard many heartwarming words. The biggest takeaway from this marathon was the sweetness, just like the lollipop in Haoran's hand!
Hu Haoran: 'Mom, are we the first place?'
Mom: 'Everyone who participates is a winner!'
Hu Haoran: 'Mom, I like marathons!'
Mom: 'Let's keep moving forward together!'
Hu Haoran: 'Mom, can I go catch crabs on the beach after we get the medal?'
Mom: 'Running Go!'
