a new auditory experience little bird track+ smart noise canceling earbuds
Preface
LIBRATONE is a speaker brand from Denmark (Little Bird Audio), with the Chinese brand name being 利勃登. The LIBRATONE brand was established in 2009, focusing on producing wireless audio equipment, breaking traditional limitations, and striving to create an ultimate listening experience for everyone. The little bird logo of LIBRATONE comes from the fairy tale 'The Nightingale' by Danish fairy tale master Hans Christian Andersen: a beautiful story about a nightingale waking up a dying emperor with her melodious song, symbolizing the freest and purest sound. The Libratone Track+ smart noise-canceling earphones, which we are fortunate to review in this article, not only provide noise cancellation but also ensure excellent sound quality, perfectly embodying the fusion of free listening and design aesthetics.
Unboxing
The outer packaging features a minimalist black and white design, with a white box and black product image, simple and elegant. The front shows a 3D rendering of the product, and the back of the box provides information and features of the earphones in English.
The inner box design is even more minimalist, with a cool all-black box and a white little bird logo in the center.
Opening the black box reveals two layers: the upper layer contains the earphones, with slender cables perfectly embedded in the foam. The lower layer includes three pairs of spare ear tips, one pair of ear wings suitable for various ear sizes and shapes, a charging cable, and a user manual.
The earphone cords are made of high-tech, skin-friendly medical-grade liquid silicone, ensuring softness and comfort during wear. Both earphones feature a delicate little bird logo and have 'L' and 'R' markings for left and right distinction.
Based on user habits, the power button is on the left earphone, while the volume control '+' and '-' buttons, the 'play' and 'pause' button, and the data cable port for connecting to a computer and charging are on the right side.
The '+' and '-' buttons control the volume. The middle round multifunction button allows short presses to play/pause music or answer/hang up calls, double presses to skip to the next track, and triple presses to go to the previous track.
There is a hidden status indicator light in the center of the inner side, showing white light when powered on or off, and red light when charging.
Product Trial
For the first use, the earphones need to be connected to the phone via Bluetooth. Open the phone, go to Settings - Bluetooth, press and hold the power button for more than 5 seconds, and the Libratone Track+ device will appear on the phone. Click to connect.
A prompt will also appear to download the companion APP. Follow the instructions to download and install it. Many settings for the Libratone Track+ earphones' smart noise-canceling function are achieved through this app.
Bind the app with the phone. Upon opening, you'll find many connected platforms like Douban FM, Ximalaya, Baidu Music, and online radio, which can be used directly.
Click 'My Settings' in the upper right corner to perform related settings operations.
The noise cancellation of the earphones is divided into three levels: primary noise cancellation at 0dB wind noise prevention, intermediate noise cancellation at -12dB, and advanced noise cancellation at -20dB.
One of the highlights of these earphones is Libratone's unique CityMix®II noise-canceling technology, which can intelligently recognize the intensity of environmental noise and automatically switch to the appropriate noise-canceling level, achieving smart ambient sound adjustment. Compared to previous earphones that could only control noise cancellation through a switch, the Libratone Track+ earphones' smart adaptation to environmental noise is impressive.
Wearing Test
Previously, I used the earphones that came with my Apple phone while running, so initially, I found it a bit uncomfortable to use these earphones for running, especially the harder control platforms on the left and right, which hit the collarbone while running. It's better to secure them during summer runs.
Transitioning from outdoors to indoors, the music sounds great in a quiet environment. In a noisy gym with energetic music, wanting to focus on weightlifting without being disturbed, the advantages of these smart noise-canceling earphones become apparent, helping you easily solve noise problems and freely adjust the volume, allowing you to immerse yourself in your favorite music without compromising training quality.
Test Scenarios:
Including office, street, gym, and home, you can feel the difference in noise cancellation brought by smart adjustment. Compared to the relatively quiet office, the noise cancellation effect is best in the gym, making these smart noise-canceling earphones more suitable for outdoor and noisy environments.
Sound Effect Test:
For bass, we tested 'West Sea Love Song' by Zhuang Zhe and 'The Ferry' by Tsai Chin. In bass mode, the sound is deep and rich, full of texture, as if listening to a live concert. For midrange, we tested Tsai Chin's 'Your Eyes,' with clear and crisp vocals and natural notes. For treble, we tested Vitas' 'Opera 2' and Shin Band's 'Love Even If I Die,' with high and long-lasting tones, though slightly lacking in penetration.
Finally, in terms of battery life, it takes one hour to fully charge, which is quite fast. Running and stretching in the morning for nearly two hours, and two hours in the gym in the evening, allows for two days of continuous use with one charge, achieving about 8 hours of battery life.
Conclusion
Overall, the Libratone Track+ smart noise-canceling earphones excel in appearance, sound quality, and weight compared to similar products on the market. Especially with its rich noise-canceling features, excellent sound quality, convenient operation, and strong practicality, it provides a great choice for users who enjoy a lightweight, wireless experience. The downside is that it's not easy to store; I usually just put it in my bag, always worrying it might get crushed or bumped. Additionally, the market price is slightly high, and it would be even more perfect if it were more affordable.
