can intuition based diet really help lose weight

Jamie Mendel, an American health coach who specializes in helping women lose weight, once followed traditional weight loss methods and ended up reaching her highest weight ever. After reflecting on her experience, she created a non-diet weight loss method. Mendel believes that by breaking three common weight loss rules, women can achieve weight loss without stress.

In the early stages of her weight loss journey, Mendel, like many others, strictly followed popular weight loss rules, quantifying what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat each day. However, after a few days, her willpower was tested, and she became miserable, occasionally binge eating. As a result, her weight not only didn't decrease but reached an all-time high.

So, Mendel decided to stop following established rules and began eating intuitively. Without setting so many restrictions for herself, she enjoyed food without pressure, and her weight decreased. As a health coach, Mendel also taught this method to her clients, helping them regain self-esteem and confidence through a free and unrestricted eating approach.

Mendel mentioned that there are three common weight loss rules that can be broken to rebuild a friendly relationship with food, and in the process, achieve weight loss.

1. Avoid sugar, carbohydrates, fats, dairy products, etc.

Everyone's body is different. Which foods one likes or dislikes can only be known by personal experience. Just because someone else avoids a certain food for weight loss doesn't mean you should too."When I was dieting, I avoided carbohydrates because I thought I shouldn't eat them. But after I gave up dieting and ate based on how food made me feel, I felt happier and healthier, and I didn't binge eat anymore."Mendel said.

2. Precisely calculate calories and meal frequency

Mendel revealed that she used to precisely calculate the calories in each meal, but felt that this approach completely deprived her body of its natural ability to respond to hunger or fullness. By listening to her body's natural signals, she felt more satisfied. Mendel suggests that if you still feel hungry after a 250-calorie breakfast, eat until you are no longer hungry.

Whether you have three main meals a day or five small meals, let your body take the lead. By not following set rules, your body will naturally tell you what it needs. This approach will keep you away from hunger and binge eating.

3. Over-restriction

When all your attention is focused on what foods you can't eat, it feels terrible. Constantly saying no to what you want to do is not the right way to live. This is why many people fail at dieting and end up binge eating. Constant self-denial makes life dull. So, eat some of the foods you want and believe you deserve it.
