II. Transportation Guide

Airport

Yangzhou and Taizhou share the Yangzhou Taizhou International Airport, which is relatively far from Yangzhou city. Runners arriving by plane can take the airport shuttle bus to the Yangzhou City Terminal near Slender West Lake (ticket price 30 yuan, about 40 minutes ride, departure time varies with arriving flights), then take a taxi to various parts of the city. Direct taxi rides cost over 100 yuan.

Train

Although Yangzhou is a major town between the two rivers, its transportation is quite complicated, especially in today's era of high-speed rail. Yangzhou does not have direct high-speed rail services.

The few direct train services to Yangzhou Railway Station require detours through Nanjing via the Ningqi Railway, mostly being slow or express trains, which are time-consuming. We do not recommend this option for time-constrained participants.

Yangzhou Railway Station is located in Hanjiang District, Yangzhou, about 1 km east of the Yangzhou West Exit of the Qiyang Expressway on Wenchang West Road, about 8 km from the city center, with convenient transportation to the city.

Train + Bus

A more efficient option is to take a high-speed train to Zhenjiang, which is across the river from Yangzhou, and then transfer to an intercity bus between Zhenjiang and Yangzhou. Zhenjiang is located on the Beijing-Shanghai and Shanghai-Nanjing high-speed rail lines, with frequent high-speed train services, allowing participants to plan their travel flexibly. The intercity bus between Zhenjiang and Yangzhou takes about 30-40 minutes.

Note that there are two bus stations in Yangzhou: the Yangzhou Bus Station in the west of the city and the East Bus Station in the eastern new district. The Yangzhou Bus Station is located at 302 Hanjiang Middle Road, Hanjiang District, with convenient transportation to the main urban area. The East Bus Station is a newly built long-distance bus station, larger in scale with more parked vehicles, but farther from the main urban area.

If participants choose to stay in hotels near the race finish area or go directly to collect items upon arrival in Yangzhou, it is recommended to take a coach bus that stops at the Yangzhou Bus Station (West Station).

Self-Driving

Compared to railway transportation, Yangzhou's road transportation is much more developed. Driving to the race is also a good option for participants. From the north and south directions, you can reach Yangzhou via the following highways:

From Beijing, take the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway to the Yangzhou exit.

From Shanghai, take the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway to Zhenjiang, cross the river via the Runyang Bridge, then take the Ning-Tong Expressway to Yangzhou. Alternatively, take the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, switch to the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway after Wuxi, exit at the Yangzhou exit, pass the Zhuanqiao toll station, and follow the signs to 'Yangzhou East' to enter Yangzhou city.

From Nanjing, take the Ning-Tong Expressway, exit at the 'Yangzhou West' sign, and enter Yangzhou city.

III. Accommodation Guide

The Yangzhou Marathon takes place during the peak tourist season of 'March in Yangzhou,' so accommodation prices rise, and cancellations after reservations are common. Chain hotels are a safer choice.

There is only one Jinjiang Inn on Yunhe East Road, about 1 km from the East Bus Station, which may be difficult to book.

Although there are more accommodations near the finish area, making it convenient to relax and shower after the race, the distance of over ten kilometers to the starting point makes the journey to the start unpredictable, so it is not recommended. If you cannot book a hotel near the starting point, it is recommended to stay in the city center with bus access to the East Bus Station.
