every time i receive a mass blessing message i want to throw my phone
Hello everyone, long time no see!
Today is the Lantern Festival, so let me first wish everyone a happy Lantern Festival and a joyful family reunion.
It's said that the New Year isn't truly over until the fifteenth day, so everyone is making the most of these last two days to relax. Of course, I haven't been idle either. Today, I'd like to share some reflections on this year's Spring Festival.
1. Blessing Messages
To be honest, during the New Year, I absolutely cannot tolerate those long, copied-and-pasted, perfectly rhymed, and meticulously worded blessing messages.
Every holiday season, my phone keeps notifying me of new messages. At first, I might take a look, but after a few notifications, I don't even want to pick up my phone anymore.
We all know that relationships don't weaken just because we didn't send a holiday greeting, nor do they strengthen because of a mass-sent blessing.
Relationships need to be nurtured and carefully maintained. If you feel you have too many friends to send individual messages, a simple greeting on social media will suffice.
After all, the main purpose of the Spring Festival is to rest and spend time with family. Imagine on New Year's Eve, finally having a meal together, watching the Spring Festival Gala, playing mahjong, or singing karaoke with friends, only to have your phone constantly buzzing with mass messages. How annoying would that be?
We already receive a large amount of information daily. Organizing, storing, refining, and remembering this information is already a headache. So, receiving mass messages not only takes up phone space but also consumes the recipient's time and energy.
For such messages, not replying seems impolite, but replying leaves you unsure of what to say. In the past few years, I would respond with 'Happy New Year' or 'Thank you' to mass messages during the Spring Festival. However, as my contacts increased, I found it increasingly difficult to keep up.
So, during the holidays, let's avoid sending mass messages. Even a few heartfelt words to each person are much warmer than seeing messages like 'I'm afraid the firecrackers tomorrow will be too loud...' or '2017 is ending, 2018 is coming...'
2. The Meaning of the Spring Festival
I once saw a popular saying on Weibo: 'Either your body or your soul must be on the move.' I believe both can travel together.
We often complain about not having time to study, exercise, or put down our phones to spend time with family. But what about during the holidays? What did you gain this Spring Festival? A bigger belly? A richer mind? Or more time with family?
Let's reflect on how we spent our time this Spring Festival. Let's talk about whether the things we did each day were meaningful. I'll start with myself.
Let's consider the seven days of the Spring Festival, from New Year's Eve to the sixth day of the new year, from morning to night.
I believe you didn't go to bed early, right? With a long holiday, you want to have fun. During the day, we visit relatives, and at night, we play mahjong, sing karaoke, and have late-night snacks.
Where do we find time for self-improvement?
In the morning.
For example, on two mornings, I got up very early. Some breakfast shops were still open, and the temperature hadn't risen yet. As planned, I went hiking with a few friends. The roads were already starting to get crowded. As the sun rose, more people arrived at the scenic spot. We successfully reached the top and began our descent. Then, we went our separate ways and returned home just in time for lunch.
After the morning, the rest of the day is no longer yours. You spend it with family, friends, and social engagements. In short, you have no time for yourself.
Speaking of spending time with family, I have a lot of feelings. Over the past year, due to training and competitions, I moved from Xichang to Chengdu and rarely had the chance to go home. So, whenever I go home, I hope to fully immerse myself in the time spent with family and cherish every moment.
I enjoy quietly watching TV with my grandfather, going shopping for New Year's goods with my mother, and listening to neighbors talk about who found a boyfriend or who had a chubby baby.
In this process, I feel the solidity of family bonds and the simple happiness that makes me cherish the time spent with family even more.
Of course, gatherings with friends are indispensable. It's rare to sit down for a meal together and chat about the fun things we experienced growing up, teasing each other about past events.
Year after year, we keep growing up. It's not just about getting older; it's about maturing inside.
Our friendships also grow over time. We don't need to see each other every day, but a simple smile can convey everything.
I remember a saying I saw on Weibo not long ago: 'True friendship stands the test of time.'
So, what is the most important thing about the Spring Festival for us?
No matter what, remember: we are no longer children. We need to understand growth and reflection. No matter how the past year went, as long as we reflect and review, making progress in the new year compared to the last, that's enough.
3. Setting Training Plans
After talking about so many things unrelated to sports, let's finally share some training-related matters.
After the Spring Festival, there are less than two months until my next race (April 15th, Ironman 70.3 Liuzhou).
If you have been building your basic fitness and training your skills before the Spring Festival, congratulations, the tedious base period is almost over. The upcoming training should include some intensity.
If your training cycle is a week, you can schedule about three sessions to gradually start intensity training, re-experiencing your body's changes and understanding speed, accurately finding new reference values after a period of rest and adjustment.
The total training time can be controlled within two hours. If 100% is your limit, you should try training at 87-93% intensity and maintain it for about 10 minutes.
For running training, you can plan 3-5 sets of 1.5-3 km tempo runs.
In short, let your body start adapting to the fatigue of high-intensity training. Personally, if my physical condition allows, I prefer overtraining, facing the fatigue every morning and continuing to train despite it.
The base aerobic endurance phase is like building a skyscraper; a solid foundation ensures stability. Continuous intensity training helps build our skyscraper higher and stronger.
Haha, thank you for not finding me too chatty. If you've read this far, I sincerely thank you for your attention and support over the past year. I wish you all a prosperous Year of the Dog and a happy Lantern Festival!
