610 days running 13.14 km daily experience
- Why run 13.14 kilometers every day? -
The most frequently asked questions from her fellow runners are: "How do you manage to go out running at 4 AM every day? Don't you get tired running 13.14 kilometers every day? Don't your family members oppose your daily running?"
Yanzi has explained these questions over and over again, so today, let's have Yanzi share her 12-year running journey with everyone.
In July 2005, Yanzi went to a new school. The school had a very large playground, which she had to pass by every day on her way from the dormitory to the teaching building. Every morning, she would see people running on the playground, and from that moment, she fell in love with running.
She quickly applied to join the school sports team, specializing in long-distance running. Early in the morning, before dawn, she would appear on the school's playground, listening to her heartbeat, counting her steps, lap after lap, freeing her mind, letting the sweat flow freely. She trained professionally with the school sports team for two years.
In August 2015, an unexpected accident severely injured her heart and lungs, leading to hospitalization.
The excruciating pain made her feel the fear of death, even contemplating leaving this world. After being in a coma for over ten days, she woke up from the pain, vaguely seeing her mother's aged back and swollen eyes from crying. At that moment, she asked herself: Why not stay healthy to reassure her family?
In March 2016, after six months of persistent treatment and medication, her body had mostly recovered. However, her heart and lung function were still very poor, and her body was extremely weak. At this time, by chance, she met Codoon and restarted her running journey.
On April 2, 2016, she completed her first five kilometers. The reason she remembers it so clearly is that this 5 kilometers was accompanied by pain and tears... At that time, she had just recovered from a serious illness, and her body was extremely weak. So she ran and walked, gasping for breath. Around two kilometers, she really couldn't hold on and stopped by the roadside to catch her breath. However, a voice in her heart told her to keep running, that only by running could she overcome all difficulties. She gritted her teeth and continued running, stumbling to complete her first 5 kilometers, narrowly escaping death.
She started running 13.14 kilometers at 4 AM in January 2017. By then, she was already addicted to running! Having experienced the pain of not being able to run and having hopes for the future, she stubbornly made 13.14 kilometers her belief. If she didn't complete 13.14 kilometers each day, she would feel uncomfortable all over. From struggling to run 5 kilometers at the beginning to now running 13.14 kilometers every day, this was her promise to herself. She worked hard to achieve her goal and shaped a healthy self!

"One cannot do many things in a lifetime, so I want to do the things I care about most brilliantly. I know this kind of persistence can be tiring, but I don't want to be swayed by others' opinions or live by others' standards. I want to bravely pursue my own heart and intuition. When I choose a path, I don't ask how difficult it is; I only know that persistence is victory!"
