Unknowingly, 2017 is almost over
Looking back at this year
There was passion, there was hesitation
There was comfort, and there was misunderstanding
Complained about the hardships of life
Also experienced the joy of success
Counting the past, we find
Those unexpected warmths
are quietly unfolding
The most touching moments in the sports circle
are waiting for you to see
@Xu Mengtao:“From 2016.1.21 (Xinjiang Winter Games injury) to 2017.11.21 (standing at the starting point of the triple jump again) today marks the 22nd month since my injury at the Xinjiang Winter Games, the 21st month post knee surgery, and the 6th day of triple jump training in my four-year cycle after Sochi... But what moved me the most today!!! It was my first triple jump lesson back on the snow post-surgery. Only God knows what I went through in these 22 months... and no one knows how much effort I put into preparing this year! Wherever you fall... you get back up from there! Every day in the future is a day to fight for my dreams!”
(Character: Flying with steel pins, Mengtao competed in the Freestyle Skiing Aerials World Championships with an injury and won a bronze medal. She became the athlete with the most medals in the history of the World Championships in this event with 5 medals and the Chinese athlete with the most World Cup medals in this event with 21 medals. Proud of Mengtao!)
@Miao Hao:“At that time, I really didn't think about anything else. I kept thinking, no matter what, I have to wait for her at the finish line. I want to give her a grand proposal! I can accept a poor performance, at worst, I'll try again next year, but I must reach the finish line!”
(Character: In the final battle of the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3, Miao Hao limped to the finish line. Upon arrival, he knelt on one knee with flowers in hand and proposed to Xiaomei in front of everyone! So touching! The power of love is so strong!)
@Hou Yinstan Li Jing: “Happy Shanghai Marathon, see you at the next stop!”
(Character: With a knee injury like that, still smiling so beautifully, feeling sorry for Jingjing...)
@LuckyStar137 : “Guilin Yangshuo is not just about challenging 115 kilometers, but also about fulfilling a dream from 20 years ago that a young girl couldn't complete...”
(Character: Na Jie, you are always the most beautiful girl! The picture is of Na Jie's foot after the trail race, although it's quite gory, Na Jie said, fulfilling the dream is worth it, pain is also joy!)
@FiveSpicePorkLovesRunning: “Phoenix Mountain training... picking up trash. Still not over my cold, feeling a bit exhausted, ran 10 kilometers less than my teammates, rested for two hours before recovering, but picked up a lot of trash on the mountain, feeling satisfied.”
(Character: This post-90s girl has been running the Beijing Marathon for 5 years... even when sick, she actively participates in public welfare, carrying a bag of trash half her height. As a fellow post-90s, I really feel ashamed.)
@Yun Yun Runner: “I was born in a poor small mountain village in Boshang Town, Lincang, Yunnan Province. Generations of my family lived a life of 'facing the loess and back to the sky'. I clearly remember when I was only 11 years old, seeing the 110m hurdles champion 'Flying Man Liu Xiang' holding the national flag, gold medal, and flowers on the Olympic champion podium at the 2004 Athens Olympics on a black-and-white TV. A dream of becoming a running champion took root in my heart.”
(Character: From a little girl in a small mountain village to a national first-level athlete and then to a national champion, she achieved her dreams step by step. Opportunities always favor those who work hard. She is still working hard now, bringing positive energy to more people!)
@Jia Shuhong: “The hardest part of running is not the distance but the climate. In our northern high-cold region, winter temperatures can drop to nearly minus 40 degrees. What keeps us running together outdoors is our unwavering love for running and marathons, which helps our bodies withstand the test of willpower.”
(Character: Running in minus 40 degrees, no need to say more, it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.)
In 2017,
it was the presence of these people
that helped us get through countless difficult days
and keep moving forward
2017,
thank you for your presence
2018,
we will continue to strive forward
May all efforts be rewarded
May every dream come true
(The above only represents the moments that made the character tear up, low tear threshold, no rebuttals accepted~)
