When I received these shoes, they looked familiar. It took me a while to remember that in January this year, during the Hong Kong 100km race, KAILAS and VIBRAM, as partners, launched a lottery review event for these trail running shoes. I didn't win the lottery back then, but unexpectedly received this gift from Codoon.

To get to the point, the most important aspect of a trail running shoe is the sole. VIBRAM, as the world's most famous sole manufacturer, is almost a standard for all high-performance running shoes. The KAILAS FUGA 2.0 uses the new MEGAGRIP anti-slip VIBRAM outsole. The tread design, through scientific functional zoning, increases slip resistance by 30%, offering excellent traction and durability.

As a trail running enthusiast, seeing a VIBRAM sole on a trail running shoe gives me peace of mind. Through countless personal experiences, VIBRAM's excellent performance is very reliable.

The KAILAS FUGA 2.0 uses a popular quick lace system, eliminating the need to stop and tie your laces. The tongue features a triangular anti-sand structure. Notably, the lacing design of the KAILAS FUGA 2.0 is interesting, with a 15-degree offset from the center of the foot and extending to the toe, providing ample adjustment space to better fit different foot shapes and offer better coverage during trail runs.

The front of the shoe features a trail-specific last, while the rear has a Braking Heel cushion. The GORE-TEX protective layer provides waterproofing and breathability.

Trail running races never have consistent terrain. Mountain, gravel, and muddy paths are common, but roads and steps also appear. It's essential to understand the course before the race to choose the right trail running shoes. The following trial impressions are personal opinions and are for reference only, as individual conditions vary.

Road Surface: The KAILAS FUGA 2.0 features a better rebound design, but running on the road still feels hard. Long-distance running can cause leg discomfort due to the stiff cushioning. However, as a trail running shoe, this is expected since no trail race has extensive road surfaces. Road running enthusiasts should choose specialized road running shoes.

Mountain Surface: In the mountains, the KAILAS FUGA 2.0 truly shines. Its excellent slip resistance handles gravel and dirt paths effortlessly. Especially downhill, it feels like your feet are rooted, providing stability with each step. The VIBRAM sole of the KAILAS FUGA 2.0 is significantly improved, offering much better traction than previous models.

In summary, the seamless welding technology of the KAILAS FUGA 2.0 provides excellent comfort and coverage. The full-foot adjustment design is commendable, and the latest VIBRAM MEGAGRIP sole does not disappoint, offering strong grip and stability, enhancing the enjoyment of trail running races.
