december time is from before slow
Once upon a time
Bicycles were slow
On the back seat of Dad's bike
There was always a secure seat
That was your exclusive spot
Once upon a time
Ships were slow
In the small river bend where Grandma lived
There were green water plants
And rippling green waves
Once upon a time
Green trains were slow
They pierced through the curling smoke
Rushing thousands of miles
Carrying the homesickness of those away from home back to their hometowns
Once upon a time
Time was slow
The winter snow of January and February
The spring blossoms of March and April
The summer nights of June and July
The autumn harvest of August and September
The small reunions in the winter months
Unknowingly, another year has passed
If you ask me where the time has gone
I think it’s in the way you’ve grown up
