For those who love running, it should never be a boring task, right? It's not just about the act of running itself, but also the scenery and people along the way.

 

Perhaps someone has already introduced you to the most beautiful running routes in China, and maybe you've used Codoon's running track feature to run the best routes we've recommended. But you probably wouldn't have guessed that next on Codoon's open track list are these places.

 


Currently, Codoon's running track feature is available in over 400 cities, with more than 500 tracks. Next Tuesday, ten more locations will be added to Codoon's open track list. Some of these places aren't even considered cities, being remote with few runners...

 

1. Ayding Lake, Turpan - The lowest point in China

Shigatse is an ancient city with a history of 600 years, located in southwestern Tibet at the confluence of the Yarlung Tsangpo and Nyangchu rivers. It's known as the 'most auspicious and beautiful manor.' From Shigatse, you can head south to reach Mount Everest, making this possibly the highest-altitude running track.

 

3. Jiamusi - The First City of the East

This is the easternmost part of China, the first place to welcome the sunrise. It features the largest freshwater marsh wetland in China and is home to protected bird species like the white stork and red-crowned crane. Data shows that morning runners far outnumber night runners here, likely because they can greet the earliest sunrise.

 

4. Kashgar - A Living Ancient City

6. Mohe - China's Arctic Village

Mohe, also known as Mo River, is named for its ink-black waters. Located at the northernmost tip of China, running here might lead you to encounter Santa Claus or even see the Northern Lights.

 

7. Zanda County - The Place with Grass Downstream

Situated on the banks of the Xiangquan River, Zanda is a shining pearl on the Ali Plateau. It is the least populated county in China, with only 6,384 residents and 134 Codoon users, meaning 2 out of every 100 people here use Codoon.

 

8. Taicang - The Backyard Garden of Pudong

Taicang is known as the corn capital of Jiangnan, a place rich in resources and talented people. It is also the county with the highest happiness index in China. 9. Yecheng County - The Starting Point of the New Tibet Highway

Yecheng County is located in the southwestern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the southern foot of the towering Karakoram Mountains. It is the closest city to Afghanistan and the running track here is arguably the closest to conflict zones.

 

10. Lijiang - More Than Just Encounters

Lively and beautiful Lijiang Ancient Town, quiet and quaint Shuhe Ancient Town, fresh and beautiful Lashihai Wetland, and the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. There’s no need to say much about Lijiang, but it’s a place many people dream of running in.



From the northernmost Mohe to the southernmost Sansha; from the easternmost Jiamusi to the westernmost Kashgar; from the lowest point in Turpan to the highest in Shigatse; from the least populated city to the county with the highest happiness index...
