1. Appearance
The feel is very good. As soon as you open the packaging, it feels refreshing. The packaging box of this Bimai shoe is very special, not the usual cardboard box, but a reusable airbag shoe bag! Not only are the shoes light, but the packaging is also light! Super impressive!
The color and appearance are very beautiful. The one-piece woven upper and midsole design can be compared to high-end running shoes on the market costing over a thousand yuan. The feel of the upper is not too satisfying to me, but it's acceptable.
2. Sole
The sole has moderate hardness, strong support, average cushioning, weak forefoot rebound, but good midfoot and rearfoot cushioning rebound. The sole's grip is very strong, suitable for short-distance racing. This also reflects one of the characteristics of this shoe: 'light'! Light as a leaf!
3. Breathability
The overall breathability of the shoe is excellent. Through this 10-day, over 100-kilometer test, the foot feel is very comfortable, with no sweat accumulation and no odor.
Additionally, the tongue design of this shoe is very good. The sides of the tongue are designed with ultra-thin, ultra-soft elastic mesh that connects the tongue to the inner side of the shoe. This is the first time I've seen such a design, which should help with the stability of the tongue, but it doesn't feel different when worn.
4. Wrap-around fit
The wrap-around fit of this shoe is excellent, with strong comfort. From the forefoot to the rearfoot, to the collar's protection of the ankle, the overall wrap-around feel and comfort are very obvious, more comfortable than any running shoe I've worn before.
5. Overall summary
After trying these shoes for over 100 kilometers, my overall evaluation of the Bimai Light as a Leaf running shoes is excellent! I position them as running shoes for distances within a half marathon. My running friends gave them a nice nickname: 'Half Marathon Prince'. My feeling is also that most people should use these shoes for running no more than ten kilometers. I wore these shoes for two consecutive days, running 23 and 22 kilometers respectively. The advantage is that they are super light, with no feeling of fatigue. The disadvantage is that after about ten kilometers, the shoe's elasticity is not noticeable. Of course, I like this ultra-light feeling shoe, and running a full marathon should be able to achieve a personal best, but for those who pursue highly elastic shoes, it may not meet your requirements.
If used as a ten-kilometer racing shoe, this shoe is excellent. Its outsole grip, lightness, and super comfortable wrap-around fit are enough to help you continuously break your ten-kilometer record.
Finally, thanks to Codoon and Bimai for providing us with the opportunity to experience the Light as a Leaf shoes, and for allowing my running friends and me to witness the magic of Bimai Light as a Leaf! Thanks to Sister Dang for giving me this review opportunity!
Wishing Codoon greater success! Wishing Bimai to produce more and better running shoes, providing more opportunities for us runners!
