Unboxing
At first glance at the packaging, I was a bit surprised because this is the first time I received shoes not in a shoebox but in air-cushion packaging.
However, upon further thought, I felt that this kind of packaging is better than a shoebox. Mainly because the air-cushion packaging provides better shock absorption to protect the shoes.
The outer packaging has a label that clearly shows the shoe size, color, and other parameters, allowing you to see the shoe details without opening it, reducing the chances of shipping or receiving the wrong item.
Appearance
Opening the outer packaging, I took out the shoes and saw a Bmai card inside.
The front reads, 'Bmai, every step is a surpassing one.'
The back of the card has the WeChat contact of Bmai's founder and some messages of gratitude to the runners.
I personally like such cards as they show the company's dedication. Although some might think it’s not directly related to the shoes, you can feel the company's attitude. The Codoon smart running shoes I tested earlier also had a similar card. Thumbs up.
The running shoes I received this time are blue. Here are some real pictures for everyone. (Haha, no PS or photo enhancement, taken with a phone, real and credible)
Here is a top-down view:
From this top-down view, you can clearly see.
1. The inside of the shoes is filled with inflatable foam, which is better than regular paper filling and less likely to deform. (Below is a close-up of the inflatable foam)
2. The shoes use a blue PU film and mesh design, with a layer of black mesh inside. This ensures the strength of the upper while also ensuring breathability.
The above image shows the filling inside the shoes.
From this image, you can see that the sole is relatively thin. Overall support is average.
The back and sides of the shoes have silver reflective strips for safer night running.
The blue shoes come with green insoles, making the overall color quite bright.
The sole has an anti-slip design, providing good traction on cement roads.
Another major feature of these Bmai running shoes is their lightweight.
Overall Appearance Evaluation:
1. The actual product is almost identical to the pictures on the Bmai online store and other sales websites, with no significant discrepancies. Real and credible.
2. Personally, I quite like this appearance, which is relatively simple.
3. Extremely lightweight. It feels lighter than other running shoes when held.
Experience
Shoe Color: Dark Blue. Size: 41.
After putting them on, the shoes have good wrapping, with the forefoot being relatively spacious, providing enough room for the toes without feeling cramped. The back half of the foot is tightly wrapped, ensuring the foot does not easily slip out.
Another feature of these running shoes is their lightness. Compared to the other four pairs of running shoes I own, these feel the lightest on the feet.
Actual Running Test: (Selecting four running records for explanation)
Experience One: August 29. 5 km, time 29:44. This was the first time running with the Bmai Mile21K. Perhaps because they were new, the soles felt quite elastic and soft. Good wrapping.
Experience Two: September 3. 3 km, time 21:26. Second time wearing these shoes. Started running at 10:35 AM, and because the weather was hot (above 30 degrees), I only ran 3 km. Overall, the shoes felt quite breathable, not causing stuffiness inside due to heavy sweating or hot weather. The foot temperature felt good.
Experience Three: September 6. 5.19 km, time 30:57. Night run. Third run, with a noticeable feeling that the soles were not as elastic as the first run. These shoes are not very suitable for heavier runners.
Experience Four: September 9. 7 km. No time data this time because I switched to walking midway. These running shoes are very comfortable for walking. Since walking does not require excellent cushioning, these lightweight shoes are quite comfortable for walking.
Summary
Cushioning Performance: 8/10
Overall, the cushioning performance is good. During intense sprints, the cushioning is average. These shoes are suitable for long-distance jogging.
Support Performance: 7.5/10
The sole's support performance is average, not very suitable for heavier runners.
Wrapping Performance: 9/10
The shoes have excellent wrapping. The back part wraps tightly, making it difficult for the foot to slip out. At the same time, the forefoot has enough space to avoid feeling constrained.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Overall rating is 8. The biggest highlight of the shoes is their lightness. Therefore, cushioning is somewhat affected. Suitable for jogging and long-distance running, with good breathability.
This is my review of the Bmai Mile21K. Finally, I would like to present a hidden acrostic poem to Bmai, hoping this domestic brand gets better and better.
