First of all, I would like to thank Codoon Equipment Party and the brand Bmai for selecting me out of thousands to be the lucky one to review the Bmai Pace 2.0 for free.
I've always been following Bmai and I can definitely call myself a qualified Bmai fan. Previously, Bmai launched two running shoe review events, the Bmai 21k second generation and the Bmai 42k. Unfortunately, I missed out on both opportunities. Despite missing the chance to experience them, my love for Bmai has never diminished. On March 18, 2017, Bmai launched their Bmai 42k marathon shoes, which they had researched for two years. As a Bmai fan, I bought them immediately. However, the release date coincided with the Wuxi Marathon, so I couldn't wear the Bmai 42k for my first full marathon. This proves that persistence and passion will bring good luck. Now, the Bmai Pace 2.0 has come to me. Although it's not a marathon shoe, it is a stylish and versatile casual running shoe.
Unboxing
Abandoning the traditional paper box design, it uses a vertical airbag arrangement, with each air column filled with air. The airbag is waterproof and rainproof, and the air columns are thick enough to be highly compressive. The shoe box opens like a drawer. As a Bmai fan, I'm not surprised by this creative packaging because Bmai has used this packaging since the release of the 42k running shoes. So, you don't have to worry about receiving oddly shaped shoe boxes when buying Bmai running shoes in the future!
Appearance/Function
The first impression is simplicity, without too many decorations. The gradient color scheme looks very beautiful. I learned from the official website that this shoe comes in four color options. I chose the gradient blue, which transitions from blue at the front to purple at the back. Although Bmai mainly promotes the white version as the versatile 'little white shoe,' the blue version also has its own versatile charm.
The upper uses seamless hot-press technology with a lightweight elastic film, providing stronger stretchability and fit. The gradient jacquard mesh structure is lightweight, breathable, and comfortably wraps around the feet. The heel bottom uses a double-layer asymmetrical arc structure with some outward extension, providing more stable support.
The Bmai Pace 2.0 (size 41) weighs only 220g, compared to the 300g Bmai 42k, making it significantly lighter. The Bmai Pace 2.0 features a comfortable and lightweight IP outsole with wave-patterned flex grooves. This outsole is rubber-free, making the sole less wear-resistant but maximizing the shoe's lightweight nature. As a casual running shoe, this is understandable, making it suitable for jogging and casual wear.
It's already summer, and besides breathability, antibacterial, deodorizing, and sweat-proof features are also important. For the Bmai Pace 2.0, there's no need to worry because it has built-in functional insoles made of hemp fiber material, effectively antibacterial and deodorizing, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying. The antibacterial material prevents bacteria growth during running and shopping, keeping your feet comfortable all day.
Shopping Experience
When I received the shoes, it was during the blockbuster release of Wu Jing's 'Wolf Warrior 2,' so I wore my stylish and versatile Bmai Pace 2.0 to the mall to support this unprecedented masterpiece.
The shoes are genuinely comfortable, very light, and breathable. The streamlined, integrated upper design is simple and pure, showcasing the latest fashion trends.
Summer is a season full of activities. After a day of shopping, the Bmai Pace 2.0 made my feet feel comfortable and snug, lightweight and breathable. The large jacquard mesh design feels like a second layer of skin, allowing your feet to breathe freely even in the hot summer.
Sports Performance
The morning is the best time of the day. On Monday, I wore the Bmai Pace 2.0 casual running shoes for a 5.2-kilometer morning run. Since they are casual running shoes, I took my time to feel the characteristics of these shoes.
During the run, I could feel that the shoes were very light and extremely breathable. With a pace of 6:30, they were easy on my feet and mind (the official recommended pace is 7:50 for a 5-kilometer distance). Although running is not the strength of these shoes, I felt relaxed and joyful during my jog.
For those of us used to marathon running shoes, it's worth trying a different approach to experience the joy of jogging. Never forget your original intention; everyone starts with jogging.

Suggestions:When you first get the new shoes, there's a pungent smell, possibly from some chemical glue used in production. Although it's not a big issue and can be resolved by airing them out, I hope this can be improved. The IP outsole, while lightweight, lacks wear-resistant rubber material. Even though they are meant for jogging and casual wear, I personally think the soles will wear out over time. The shoelace material is not slip-resistant, and during running, if your stride is large and your pace is fast, the laces can easily come loose.
Finally, I hope that Bmai, as a new domestic brand, can stick to originality. Since its official launch in October 2015, Bmai has gained significant popularity despite having no initial recognition. Bmai is constantly surpassing itself with every step. Domestic products should strive for excellence, and Bmai is the strongest! I hope Bmai will bring more and better products to its fans in the future.
