brave general professional running socks run hard you are a brave general

I remember the Dongying (Yellow River Estuary) International Marathon on May 7, 2016. Since then, whenever I participate in a race, I always wear compression leg sleeves or compression socks. The lesson from that race was profound and remains vivid in my memory; I don't want to repeat the same mistake. During that race, I maintained a fast pace for the first 32 kilometers, but I had woken up late and didn't have time for a proper breakfast (I arrived at the race venue just in time). I only ate two bananas in the car, and more importantly, I forgot to bring my compression leg sleeves. As a result, my calves became sore and swollen after 32 kilometers, my pace dropped significantly, and I even experienced cramps at the 37-kilometer mark. After some emergency self-treatment, I finished the race in 3:18, which remains my worst marathon time to date.

Since then, I've learned my lesson and always bring compression socks to races.

Because of my experience and long-term use of compression socks, I have a certain understanding of the functionality and effectiveness of such products. I was fortunate to be selected to review Codoon's Warrior Power Run Series compression sports socks. I sincerely thank Codoon, and today I will share my detailed review with you.

Brand Introduction

I first heard about the Warrior brand during the 2016 Chongqing International Marathon because the race packs for the full and half marathons included Warrior brand socks. From then on, I started paying attention to this brand. Warrior has 28 years of experience in sock manufacturing and industry accumulation. Their gradient pressure sports socks took three years to develop, undergoing multiple tests and evaluations by professionals, continuously upgrading and iterating their pressure protection technology, and forming several proprietary products. Their products were designated as the official gear for the 13th Winter Games, providing custom functional sports socks for athletes from 51 national teams and continuously sponsoring one of the world's four major orienteering races, the Xuanzang Road Business School Gobi Challenge.

Function Introduction and Detail Display

The product packaging is not complicated; it is quite simple.

This product comes in seven colors. I chose bright pink. The socks are available in S, M, and L sizes and T1 and T2 calf circumferences, allowing consumers to make more targeted choices.

The Warrior Power Run Series compression sports socks I reviewed use LYCRA high-tech elastic fiber fabric from Invista, which is highly elastic and allows free movement.

The product distinguishes between the left and right foot, with separate designs for each, making it more ergonomic.

The socks are made of moisture-wicking fibers, with bar-shaped flow-guiding knitting on the soles to quickly wick away sweat during long runs, keeping the inside of the socks dry and preventing slips that could lead to ankle injuries.

Each sock has a dragon pattern on the outside, representing the national brand and the rise of the Chinese dragon.

The front, back, left, and right sides use a monochrome design, which is simple yet elegant.

The product features an extended Achilles tendon design for better support and protection, with a Y-shaped heel that fully wraps around, ensuring the socks don't slip off during exercise.

Based on research by ergonomics experts, the high-efficiency pressure scheme improved through in-depth internal testing by sports experts offers 3X gradient pressure, which can reduce calf muscle vibration, decrease muscle soreness caused by lactic acid buildup, and speed up recovery, fully supporting your long-distance training.

Product Trial

Coincidentally, my running group has a routine long-distance training every Saturday. Before this, I wore the socks for two 15-kilometer runs to adapt and break them in, and I didn't feel any discomfort. Now, let me talk about the product's performance during long-distance training.

Test Distance: 40 kilometers.

Weather Conditions: 26-30°C, humid and hot.

Road Conditions: Asphalt and some cobblestone roads.

Experience: Due to rain the night before, the road was a bit slippery, and the air was stuffy with high humidity. With constant hydration, I sweated a lot during the long run. After five kilometers, my clothes were soaked, and sweat was dripping down my body. However, the socks absorbed all the sweat by the time it reached my knees. Although the evaporation rate couldn't keep up with the absorption rate over time, the product's flow-guiding function slowed down the sweat's downward seepage. Thanks to the quick-drying feature, by the time I finished the 40 kilometers, the sweat had just started to reach my ankles and hadn't seeped into my shoes. However, due to foot sweat, the socks expelled the sweat to the outside, making the shoes slightly damp. Given the weather and my sweating, this was normal and completely acceptable. The compression performance of the socks was excellent; my legs didn't feel sore, swollen, or painful after the run. Personally, I feel that wearing them for another 12-24 hours after the run would further help with lactic acid removal and relaxation.

Additionally, I felt that the sock tube was a bit long, about 2-3 centimeters too long.

As shown in the picture, under normal circumstances, there is no problem with the back of the knee (as shown in Figure 1), but after some activity, the edge of the sock tube rolls down a bit (as shown in Figure 2).

Especially when you make large movements, such as bending your legs while running, the back of your knee feels constricted.

This is neither aesthetically pleasing nor comfortable. I'm not sure if it's because my legs are short, but this is the first time I've encountered this issue with a properly fitting size.

Summary

Despite this minor flaw, the Warrior Power Run Series compression sports socks are indeed an excellent product. In terms of compression, comfort, moisture-wicking, aesthetics, and practicality, they are among the best in their category. As for my small issue, it might be an isolated case. Who would have thought that someone with size 44 feet would only be 173 cm tall?
