Editor's Note: 'Codoon City Pacers Season 3, Episode 3, we head to the Northwest. A bowl of lamb soup with bread, an endless expanse of the Gobi Desert, we feel it all the way, come listen to your story.'
Thanks to the many runners from the Northwest for their submissions. In the end, we selected Mr. @RunningFengzi's submission, and he successfully became the city pacer for this season in the Northwest region. Now, let's listen to his story about running~

Be the man who conquers the Gobi Desert
@RunningFengzi: 'Trail running is like the poplar tree, standing for a thousand years without falling, fallen for a thousand years without dying, dead for a thousand years without decaying. We write our journey with resilience, tenacity, selflessness, and fearlessness.'
Hello everyone, I am @RunningFengzi. Because of my unreserved 'nonsense' in the running group, they affectionately call me 'Madman.' I am from Gansu, working in Urumqi, Xinjiang, a true Northwest man. I've been here for a few years now and slowly feel like a Xinjiang native because I've met so many like-minded running buddies here.
100KM Silk Road, I have regrets
On April 2, 2017, I signed up for the 2017 Silk Road Turpan Jiaohe Ancient City Marathon 12-hour endurance run organized by Jiantu Marathon (running 100 kilometers or more within 12 hours, circling Jiaohe Ancient City, each lap is 4.2 kilometers, completing 24 laps is considered passing). After taking the bus to Turpan alone, I immediately went to the hotel to meet up with my running friends.
For the 100KM at night, as soon as I met up with my running friends, we quickly started looking for food. The roasted buns across from the hotel were very fragrant, and even now, I still find them delicious.
Next came the official race, and I have attached more interesting stories in the pictures.
Some people are always going through various difficulties. As the old saying goes, the beginning of everything is hard. The hardest part is starting anew after giving up, and you still have to go through the difficult beginning phase. Marathon runners rely not on brute force but on regular training and tedious persistence.
The beautiful scenery along the way is also one of the reasons I can persist in marathon running.
When I was close to 90 kilometers, I felt like my feet were no longer mine. At that moment, I gave up the last 10 kilometers. The marathon process needs some imperfections, which serve as a goal for the next time.
Pain is nothing; conquering it is remarkable, and letting it go is also a kind of madness. Although I didn't reach 100 kilometers, I challenged a new self. Even though I didn't finish the 100 kilometers, I was a different person from before I started. The pain and struggle made me realize the magic within, and I am the tribulation of a runner.
The Battle of Karamay, conquering the Gobi Desert
May 20, 2017, a special day. Stepping out of Karamay train station, standing in this beautiful oil city, a warm encounter, an exciting race, it all starts here.
Embarking on the Beautiful China Tour, the Demon Realm 88 Karamay Trail Challenge, let life go wild. While most people are still confused, pondering what life to pursue, we are already feeling the charm of every inch of sand in the Gobi Desert.
If life is a journey without an end, every CP point we complete on the trail is another starting point for our dreams.
No romantic flowers and moonlight, no colorful neon lights, only the endless wind and sand, the boundless Gobi Desert of the Demon Realm 88. We used wildness to showcase a unique landscape.
Men's 46KM Trail Race, finish time: 04:55:10, 26th place in the group. The joy of victory is often fleeting, but those who have run in the Northwest know that this land leaves the most glorious honor to every running life.
Choosing trail running, choosing self-torture, everywhere in this life is a landscape. Among all the beautiful landscapes, the vastness and freedom of the Gobi Desert attract me the most. Perhaps it's like the adventurous spirit flowing in the blood of Northwest men, seemingly silent but unwilling to be mediocre, only wishing for the fire of dreams in the heart to burn brightly.
