bimai 42k running shoes black and white budget friendly running

A month ago, I was informed that I had once again been selected to review the Bmai 42K running shoes. I felt truly honored because I had previously reviewed the Bmai Mile21K2 running shoes. I am very grateful and touched, and I guess some fellow runners might be envious.

Unboxing and Appearance

On May 15th, the Bmai package arrived at my workplace while I was on a business trip in Shanxi. I specifically emailed the Codoon gear team. I received the new shoes on the night of May 17th. The packaging omitted the cardboard box used for the Bmai Mile21K2, which is more environmentally friendly. Although there was no box, the shoes were well protected with air cushion packaging to prevent deformation.

If the last Bmai Mile21K2 in pink and purple was like a lively girl, then this time, upon opening the air cushion packaging, I found my favorite black and white 'handsome guy.' Codoon and Bmai have allowed me to have both a beautiful girl and a handsome guy, sparking my imagination.

I really like the appearance of the Bmai 42K running shoes. I don't like plain-colored running shoes, nor do I like overly flashy ones, so the black and white combination is a low-key luxury. Although the sole is mainly white, it has a pebble pattern that is quite dirt-resistant. The double-layer mesh increases the wrapping effect and provides good breathability. The front and heel of the shoe have reflective patches, making them suitable for night running.

The interior and shoe collar are also entirely black, which is very dirt-resistant. The thickest part of the insole is about 0.6 cm, in a fresh light green color.

Overall, the appearance is stylish and atmospheric, with good breathability and moisture resistance. I previously ran ten kilometers in them, and even though I didn't have time to change shoes, I only changed my socks before going to work, and they still felt very dry.

Running Evaluation

I am still accustomed to morning runs, so all my evaluations are based on morning runs. It rained on May 18th, and on the 19th, I had my first 10-kilometer road run. The cushioning ability is really good, and the rumored 'stepping on poop' feeling is indeed there.

Please ignore my little belly; how did I get fat again?

I had just returned to Wuhu for less than ten days when I went on another business trip to Bengbu. I decided to take the Bmai 42K running shoes with me and ran in Zhanggongshan Park in Bengbu.

In mid-June, I went on another business trip to Chuzhou. I continued to take my running shoes with me. I originally planned to run in Langya Mountain, but the hotel I stayed in the night before had a strong smell and poor soundproofing. There was a football match, and I didn't sleep well all night. Although I woke up at 5:30, my mind was a bit foggy, so I didn't dare to run in the mountains. Instead, I did a 6-kilometer jog around Chuzhou People's Square near the hotel.

I originally planned to conclude the evaluation after 100 kilometers. However, after receiving a reply from the Codoon gear team saying I could submit the report a few days later, I decided to try the Bmai 42K on a few trail runs. Although the Bmai 42K is not a professional trail running shoe, I found that its grip was good during two 10-kilometer trail runs. It performed well on leaves, twigs, and rocks, with good anti-slip ability and strong cushioning when descending, reducing the impact on my knees.

Evaluation Conclusion

I ran a total of 165.56 kilometers in the Bmai 42K, combining road running and trail running. Apart from a minor issue with the reflective material, I am quite satisfied with the shoes. Here are the summarized advantages:

1. The wrapping, cushioning, breathability, and anti-slip properties are all quite good.

2. I feel that the black and white combination looks high-end and atmospheric, and other color combinations are also very nice.

3. They are very suitable as daily training shoes and have a high cost-performance ratio.

4. Compared to the Bmai Mile21K2, the cushioning is more noticeable, the wrapping is better, but there is no significant difference in breathability and weight.

Suggestions for Improvement:

1. The reflective material on the toe area needs improvement in craftsmanship or should use materials with better adhesion.

2. Increase the length of the shoelaces. When all the eyelets are laced up, the wrapping is better, and there is no fear of the shoes loosening during running. If the shoelaces were about 10 cm longer, it would be more convenient.
