craft cycling bib shorts review report
First of all, I would like to thank Codoon Trend Review Hall for giving me the opportunity to review the 'Craft Bib Cycling Shorts'! I am a loyal fan of Codoon, and my Codoon nickname is 'Lightning Dongdong'. I have been using Codoon for more than two years now. When I exercise, I use Codoon, and exercising makes me happy! The world is so big, I want to travel by bike. As a sports enthusiast, I truly feel 'the more I ride, the luckier I get.'
This is my first opportunity to review a pair of bib cycling shorts from Codoon, and I will definitely seize this chance to conduct a thorough review and write a valuable report to repay Codoon for their trust in me.
I started cycling in 2009, and it's been almost 9 years now. During this time, I have used several brands of cycling shorts, but this is my first time trying and using Craft bib cycling shorts.
1. Unboxing and Appearance Review
On May 24, 2017, I received the 'Craft Bib Cycling Shorts' via courier. After work, I couldn't wait to get home and open the package to see them:
The packaging is simple and elegant, with all kinds of tags in place. I tried them on, and the fabric felt very comfortable and elastic. The padding and leg openings fit perfectly. I usually wear size L, and before receiving the shorts, I was worried about whether they would fit. After trying them on, I was pleasantly surprised; the size felt tailor-made, fitting better than any other cycling shorts I've bought before. Of course, the true quality of cycling shorts can only be felt during a ride. Since it was raining on the day I received them, I didn't go out for a test ride immediately.
2. First Short-Distance Test
On the morning of May 25, 2017, the weather was clear. I put on the Craft bib cycling shorts and went for a short-distance test ride, covering just under 12 kilometers.
Test route: Starting from my doorstep, I rode to the top of the Huishan Mountain Road in Wuxi, Jiangsu, which involved a continuous climb of just under 6 kilometers, and then returned the same way.
Test results: The shorts felt very comfortable, with highly breathable fabric and elastic padding. Despite the hard bike saddle, I hardly felt any discomfort. Of course, the padding is the most important part of cycling shorts. Although this was a short ride, the overall feeling was very comfortable.
3. Second Medium-Distance Test
On May 29, 2017, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I conducted a second medium-distance test. The route was from my doorstep to Qianbo Bridge in Mashan, Wuxi, and back, covering just under 50 kilometers.
Test results: Wearing the Craft bib cycling shorts for a ride of just under 50 kilometers, the fabric was comfortable and breathable, and the shorts felt very comfortable during the ride. All parts fit perfectly, and the padding matched the bike saddle completely. After riding nearly 50 kilometers, I didn't feel any discomfort at all. Excellent.
4. Third Long-Distance Test
On June 10, 2017, I participated in a 24-hour 300-kilometer race around Taihu Lake organized by the Nanjing Bike Network. The race officially started at 6 a.m., with the starting point at the Taihu Bay Tourist Resort in Wujin, Changzhou, Jiangsu. The route passed through Wuxi, Suzhou, Huzhou, Changxing, and Yixing, circling Taihu Lake. The weather was great when I checked in on the 9th, but it suddenly changed and started pouring rain at midnight on the 10th. The rain continued until the race started at 6 a.m. I rode about 48 kilometers but decided to quit for safety reasons, so I couldn't conduct a long-distance test of the shorts. Very regrettable.
5. Summary
After several short and medium-distance tests, I feel that these cycling shorts are excellent in terms of both fabric and padding, outperforming the Scorpion and JAKROO shorts I have worn before. The price is also quite acceptable.
