codoon smart running shoes review

The appearance is the first choice for most people when buying shoes, but whether a pair of running shoes is good or worth buying still needs to be considered from multiple aspects. Traditional running shoes generally need to be evaluated based on breathability, wrapping, shock absorption, stability, durability, and grip. In the past two years, the integration of smart chips into running shoes has become a trend. The chip data can be synchronized with the phone, making stride length, step frequency, ground contact time, and gait ratio clear at a glance.

I was very fortunate to become one of the first testers of Codoon running shoes. Now, let me talk about these running shoes with embedded smart chips.

In terms of appearance, I received a pair in fluorescent green. The midsole design and the black plastic wrap around the heel are inspired by Asics. Since these are test shoes, there is no brand label in the middle of the shoe.

The shoelaces are relatively hard, increasing friction, making them less likely to come undone during running.

The outer material of the shoe collar sponge is relatively rough, which is not necessarily a bad thing as it increases friction. Many high-end running shoes now have very smooth outer textures, making it easier for the heel to slip during running.

The grip and wear resistance of the sole material are commendable. After running a total of 40km, there is basically no wear.

Overall, compared to traditional running shoes, this all-around performance at a price of 199 yuan is already very affordable.

Apart from the aforementioned experiences, the biggest highlight of Codoon running shoes is the smart chip inside. It can record distance, duration, pace, calories, and the main functions include buffering impact, average ground contact time, foot pressure points, and pronation.

During running, after the chip is connected to the phone, it will monitor the foot landing frequency, stride length, and changes in running posture in real-time. It will issue voice reminders to correct running posture and stride length when there are significant fluctuations. The timeliness is very strong, opening the era of running without a coach.

Additionally, the running shoes have a foot-stomping function. Since these are test shoes, some chip functions are not yet fully developed. Unfortunately, I couldn't experience this feature in advance. It is said that by stomping your foot while stationary, you can find Codoon running friends within 5 kilometers and in the past 3 hours. It's a very unique and fun way to make friends.
