bimai 42k running shoes start from the foot surpass yourself
I unintentionally heard about BMAI from a fellow runner. It's an internet sports brand founded by a dozen running enthusiasts. Despite being around for just over a year, it has gained unanimous recognition from many runners and has become a trusted partner for them. Thanks to Codoon Gear Party and BMAI for giving me the opportunity to review this 42k running shoe. Most of my running gear is from BMAI. Although I haven't run a full marathon in this pair yet, I have run two full marathons in the same black 42k model, so my review will be just as thorough.
The Chinese name '必迈' combined with the English 'BMAI'.
Inspired by QR codes and Chinese seal carving, it reflects a blend of internet thinking and Eastern understated aesthetics. Additionally, BMAI's logo is a phonetic translation of 'be myself,' encouraging every sports enthusiast to take a step and bravely be themselves!
A group of running enthusiasts gathered in a park most suitable for running to do something that would provide a better running experience for runners. A company composed of runners wanting to enhance the running experience. Running is simple. It is not about pain but joy, enjoying the pure pleasure of the running process rather than just caring about the results. BMAI firmly believes: Be yourself, and every step is a transcendence.
The unique packaging and shoe box are not only lightweight but also effectively protect the shoes during transportation. The side of the shoe box displays the model, size, and color of the shoes. My pair is the 42k, fluorescent yellow, size 41. The name 42k comes from the fact that these shoes are designed for the full marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers.
I chose fluorescent yellow because it looks great in photos. When I opened the box, I was truly amazed; it was exactly the color combination I liked. The inside of the shoe has reflective numbers 42.195, and there are reflective designs on the back outer side, front inner side, and middle, effectively increasing safety for night running. The large area of fluorescent yellow on the upper, combined with black accents and white on the side of the sole, creates a visually superior look even with contrasting colors.
The upper combines mesh and PU film. The mesh increases the breathability of the shoes (I hope they will use ultra-thin mesh in the future for even better breathability). The PU film on the front, back, and sides of the sole is wear-resistant and flexible, effectively protecting the toes.
The day after receiving the shoes, I went to the track and ran 5 kilometers. As soon as I put them on, I felt they had excellent wrapping. During the run, the forefoot support felt very stable, and the rebound was noticeable when running at a steady pace, helping me regain my best speed. Although these are full marathon shoes, they didn't feel particularly heavy for short-distance runs.
Before reviewing these shoes, I had already run two full marathons in the 42k model. The weight of 298g helps reduce energy consumption. The multi-layer cushioning of the sole, especially in the latter half of the run, provides excellent rebound and shock absorption. The arch support, heel support, and the X-frame in the sole enhance stability. The grip of the sole was satisfactory during uphill and downhill sections of the Qin Marathon.
The price of 399 is quite shocking, as a pair of full marathon running shoes usually costs over a thousand. With such a high cost-performance ratio, I believe we will see more and more runners wearing BMAI shoes on marathon tracks.
Shortcomings:
Feet can get slightly hot when running in summer, but it's completely fine in winter.
The good service attitude piqued my interest, and after experiencing it, I fell in love with it. Thanks to Codoon and BMAI for giving me the opportunity to do this review and share my experience with more runners. It may not be the most famous sports brand, but it is certainly the most dedicated.
