BMAI, as a rising star in the development and production of sports equipment in China, has shown strong growth momentum in recent years. According to the introduction, BMAI's logo is a transliteration of 'be myself,' hoping that every sports enthusiast must take a step forward and bravely be themselves.
The design of BMAI's logo is very innovative, fully reflecting the characteristics of the Internet era. It adopts a QR code design, representing that BMAI is an Internet sports company. BMAI belongs to Beijing BMAI Sports Goods Co., Ltd., focusing on running sports and continuously improving to provide comprehensive running solutions for running enthusiasts, becoming a trusted partner for runners. As a user experience-driven company, it continuously iterates and upgrades at the design and development end based on user feedback. Through online social marketing and offline experiential marketing in sports scenarios, it achieves the dissemination of information content and creates a new business model that provides products and services for sports participants.BMAI has formed a strong alliance with Codoon, a leading Internet sports application, conducting experiential running shoe evaluations among Codoon users, laying a good foundation for BMAI's product development and market expansion.
As a running enthusiast and a loyal user of Codoon, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to evaluate BMAI's new generation product, the MILE 42K marathon running shoes. Below is my personal experience report for everyone.
I. Unboxing Experience:
I received the running shoes on the afternoon of May 17th, in the usual black plastic packaging bag.
Upon opening the packaging bag, there was no common paper packaging box inside. Instead, two air column plastic bags tightly wrapped the new shoes, with two strings on the outer air column plastic bag for easy carrying.
I highly appreciate this very unique shoe box design. Firstly, I think this type of shoe box can greatly reduce the use of paper boxes, thereby significantly reducing the amount of deforestation, which is undoubtedly good news for environmental protection. Secondly, each air column in this air column packaging bag is filled with air, which can better protect the shoes from external impacts and damage during logistics transportation in online sales. Moreover, this packaging bag is more waterproof, so there are no worries even on rainy days. Before even seeing the shoes, such distinctive packaging gave me a good impression of this new product, making me feel that BMAI is quite attentive to some details.
When I saw the true appearance of the 42K, I found that the support inside the shoes was not the paper balls used in almost all shoe products, but inflatable sealed plastic bags, like two connected balloons, supporting the upper to prevent the shoes from deforming due to squeezing during transportation and storage. It seems that BMAI is determined to go all out with inflation, and the effect is really very good. For a frugal consumer like me, I am reluctant to throw away this special shoe support. Even after wearing the BMAI 42K, I will put this shoe support in my other shoes.
II. Product Appearance and Technology
According to the introduction, BMAI has developed 5 flagship running shoes in more than two years, each adhering to a dual-density design to allow runners to fully experience the comfort and cushioning ability brought by the running shoes during exercise. Up to now, the insole of the MILE 42K has been upgraded from the EVA of the MILE 001 to the Ortholite antibacterial dual-density foam insole. This upgrade not only brings changes in foot feel but also makes the inside of the shoe drier and more comfortable. With technological progress, the dual-density midsole of the MILE 42K has incorporated Boom foam cushioning technology in the upper layer, adjusting to the most suitable level between softness and elasticity, making the Boom cushioning layer of the 42K finally reach a perfect level. To increase stability and durability and enhance the overall function of the upper, the MILE 42K has undergone a comprehensive innovation, with the sole and upper completely re-molded, changing from a single yarn weave to a seamless film process with a jacquard mesh upper.
Holding these fluorescent green running shoes in hand, they are slightly lighter than the previous generation MILE 21K running shoes but still feel very substantial. The craftsmanship of the midsole, upper, and shoe last is excellent, filling one with confidence. The large area of fluorescent green and ink black color contrast makes the running shoes look very bright and attractive. The tongue, insole, and sole all have obvious BMAI logos, boldly displaying their identity like a QR code representing current technology; the toe and the back of the shoe are printed with the black number 42.195, indicating that they are born for the full marathon!
For full marathon runners, the designers have put a lot of effort into the comfort and applicability of the running shoes. There are two buckles on the tongue to fix the shoelaces, which can better fix the tongue and prevent it from sliding to one side during running; the large area of mesh on the upper allows for better breathability, preventing the runner's feet from feeling stuffy; and the large amount of soft sponge filling in the tongue and heel provides good wrapping for the runner's instep and heel without feeling hard or chafing. In short, I feel that the designers developed this running shoe with the original intention of allowing more running friends to easily and comfortably complete a full marathon.
Of course, as a mass-produced product, occasional flaws can be found in some places. For example, in the pair of shoes I received, there was a place with loose threads on the inside of the right foot. Additionally, for some reason, I felt that the wrapping of the heel on the right foot was relatively poor. Even when tightening the shoelaces, I still felt that the heel was somewhat loose and could not be tightly wrapped, which felt different from the left foot.
III. Running Experience
I have been wearing the 42K full marathon running shoes for more than two weeks now. Initially, when I started running in them, I felt a bit uncomfortable, mainly due to the previously mentioned issue of the right heel not fitting well, requiring the shoelaces to be tightened. After multiple 5km, 10km, and 10+km runs (due to time constraints, I did not run 20km or a full marathon), the running shoes became increasingly comfortable. During my most recent long-distance run with the 42K, I felt very well-adapted, with my feet securely wrapped by the running shoes. The midsole felt like it was growing on my feet, allowing me to exert force from any position I wanted. I think the performance of the midsole is completely fine, whether for short-distance slow runs or long-distance training, without any feeling of power loss in the later stages.
IV. Experience Summary
Overall, the most impressive aspect of these running shoes is their cushioning. When running in them, the feedback to my feet is very strong, with a soft and elastic feeling with every step, providing strong protection for the runner's ankles and knees. The weight of the 42K shoes is moderate, not ultra-light, but also not burdensome for the runner's feet. The designers found a good balance between the weight of the shoes and the sufficient use of materials. The appearance of the shoes is also well-designed, with many small details done well, such as the crack pattern and the reflective material on the toe and heel. From the perspective of an amateur runner, these shoes are indeed very suitable equipment for those of us who love sports. Whether from the perspective of scientific exercise or improving running performance, they can make us trust them completely. Support domestic products, and hope BMAI gets better and better!
