do sport lovers necessarily have simple minds
If you combinemarathon, cycling, and swimming, you get a triathlon. So what happens when you combinechessandboxing? Congratulations, you've discovered the underground event of a mysterious organization—chess-boxing.
What's the best way to prove that you can make money with both your brain and your body? Of course, it's by participating in a chess-boxing match! Hey!
This is a magical competition that combines wisdom and physical strength. It was initially inspired by a Dutchman from a French comic book. "Why not combine boxing and chess to select talents who are well-rounded in both mind and body?" Thus, this mysterious underground event was born.
In the comic, the boxing match takes place between chess moves, leaving participants bruised and battered.
The first chess-boxing match was held in 2003 in Berlin, Germany, and the (WKBO)World Chess Boxing Organisationwas also founded in Berlin. Its slogan is:"Fighting is done in the ring, and war is waged on the board."Think about it carefully: it's quite profound. You strategize on the board and duel in the ring, embodying the saying, "A gentleman uses both his words and his fists."
Now, let's take a look at the entire competition process:
A chess-boxing match consists of 11 alternating rounds of chess and boxing.
The competition starts with a chess game that lasts for 3 minutes. Each player has a total of 9 minutes for the chess portion, making for a total of 18 minutes of chess play.
The chess rounds are interspersed with 5 rounds of 3-minute boxing matches.
So how is the winner determined?
In a chess-boxing match, a player can win in the following ways within the stipulated time:
- Knock out the opponent in the boxing match
- Technical knockout (the referee deems one side too badly beaten to continue without risking serious injury)
- The opponent runs out of time in the chess match
- The referee disqualifies the opponent
- The opponent surrenders in the boxing match
If the chess game ends in a draw and there is no knockout in the boxing match, the winner is determined by the higher boxing score. If it's still a tie, the player with the black pieces wins.
Andreas Dilschneider, a spokesperson for the World Chess Boxing Organisation, stated that chess-boxing may sound strange, but if you think about it, there are many similarities between the two sports. Just as you can be knocked out in a boxing match, you can be 10-20 moves ahead in chess. If you make one wrong move or overlook something, it could be game over.

Today's book recommendation:
The author of this book, Master Swami Rama, practiced in the Himalayas for over forty years, during which he lived and studied with several reclusive yoga masters. From 1949 to 1956, this highly insightful practitioner went to Europe to study and later traveled to the United States. There, he integrated the secret and unique practices he had learned over twenty years with modern Western yoga concepts, founding the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy and began teaching his unique methods. He became the founder of the Himalayan Yoga tradition. Swami's understanding of yoga is precise and pragmatic; he does not emphasize the mystical aspects of yoga but rather the methods and processes that truly benefit practitioners. He has had a significant impact on contemporary yoga worldwide. Among all the yoga knowledge, he particularly emphasized that "meditation" is a simple yet fundamental practice. He believes that as you gradually enter a true meditative state through simple daily practice, the changes in your body and mind will exceed your imagination.
