In August 2014, I was fortunate to connect with Codoon Sports. Since then, I've been deeply involved, engaging in both cycling and running, and participating in various activities organized by Dangmei. I'm really lucky; my persistent efforts finally earned me the opportunity to review the AYE All-Terrain Running Shoes! Many thanks to Dangmei for the generous support!
1. First Impressions.
Upon receiving the package and opening it, the black shoe box gives a sense of stability. The red and gray AYE logo on the front is simple yet impressive. The box provides clear information about the shoes, including model, color, product grade, origin, and material composition. This makes you eager to see the actual shoes. Opening the box, the vibrant Ocean Blue color catches the eye, exuding youthful energy and vitality. As someone nearing middle age who mostly wears dark shoes, I really want to try running in these youthful colors!
2. Detailed Observation.
Holding the shoes, the bright colors are striking, and the design offers high recognition. The toe area is designed with an upward curve and is relatively spacious, protecting the toes during movement and reducing the occurrence of black toenails. The tongue is long and made of high-density, high-elastic foam, significantly reducing friction with the ankle during running, thus protecting the skin.
The midsole uses a new, highly resilient material that provides excellent cushioning, effectively reducing the pressure on the feet from the ground during exercise. The outsole is made of lightweight, wear-resistant rubber, high-elastic Phylon EVA, and imported TPU material, all crafted with a one-piece molding process. This greatly enhances the cushioning effect, elasticity, wear resistance, and anti-slip properties, making it suitable for various terrains.
3. Practical Experience.
When I first tried on the new shoes, I felt an urge to run. Due to timing, I saved my first run in the AYE shoes for a weekend morning. The front of the shoes felt wider than my previous pairs, providing comfort without squeezing the forefoot. The inner lining is soft, especially around the heel, offering good protection and preventing blisters. The insoles fit well, providing excellent cushioning. During the run, the shoes offered noticeable cushioning, protecting the knees and feet. The breathable mesh upper kept my feet comfortable and dry, and the midsole and heel provided excellent cushioning and grip. Compared to my previous shoes, my knees, thighs, calves, and feet felt no discomfort, and my speed improved over ten kilometers. The shoes demonstrated strong grip on various surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, and brick. After the run, the soles showed only slight wear, proving the durability of the AYE running shoes.
4. Suggestions and Opinions.
Firstly, due to the choice of materials and the pursuit of various craftsmanship, the shoes are not very lightweight, making them less suitable for full marathon competitions. However, for those not focused on perfecting their time, they are a good choice. Additionally, during my run, the shoelaces came undone once, possibly due to not being tied tightly or the material of the laces. I recommend tying an extra knot. Lastly, these all-terrain AYE running shoes are suitable for various road conditions, making them a great choice for runners who enjoy both road and trail running, as long as they are not overly professional.
