codoon couple windproof jacket unafraid of severe cold
I am very honored to be selected for this windbreaker jacket review. Thanks to Codoon Gear Party for trusting me. From receiving the selection notification, sending out personal information, receiving the confirmation email, to receiving the package, the speed was impeccable. The efficiency of Codoon is commendable.
With anticipation, I waited for the package to arrive. However, when I received it, I was a bit disappointed! Inside the ordinary plastic delivery bag was a simple transparent plastic bag. As a product of Codoon's exclusive brand, it lacked a dedicated packaging box with the Codoon logo, which seemed somewhat unprofessional.
However, when I saw the jacket, I was amazed! Firstly, the orange color gave me a very familiar feeling, as the color of our Mudanjiang Riverside Running Club's team uniform is also this 'flamboyant' orange. Secondly, the jacket's cut is very fitting and slim, and the craftsmanship is exquisite. The Codoon logo on the left chest is very noticeable. Upon close inspection of the zipper heads, both the side pockets and the main zipper are very sturdy. The plastic pull tabs in the same color as the jacket are very user-friendly. The warm design of the cuffs, collar, and zipper effectively prevents wind from entering through these areas, serving as the first barrier of this windproof jacket.
I reviewed the main windproof design of this jacket and learned that the wind-facing side uses a PU film, which effectively blocks wind from entering the jacket and taking away body heat. This PU material is lightweight and closely matches the color of the jacket, making it almost invisible from the outside. This windproof and breathable jacket uses a front windproof and rear breathable design, catering to runners. It allows the heat generated from intense exercise to quickly dissipate from the back, preventing the jacket from becoming uncomfortably sticky from sweat.
All design concepts must be tested in practice to be validated! The cold and windy mornings in the Northeast are the best times to test this windproof and sweat-wicking jacket. Wearing it over a fleece compression shirt, I went for a six-kilometer morning run in temperatures close to minus ten degrees Celsius. Initially, the low temperature made me feel cold, but its windproof function was remarkable! Despite being a lightweight single jacket, it prevented the wind from penetrating. After a one-kilometer warm-up and speeding up, my body warmed up, and I started to sweat. The quick-drying compression shirt inside transferred the heat out, and the jacket's back ventilation quickly dissipated the heat outside, preventing any sticky feeling. After completing six kilometers at a pace of six minutes per kilometer, I checked the back of the jacket and found no large wet patches, only slight dampness.
This is my first time reviewing running gear, and I lack experience! Additionally, the cold temperatures in the Northeast prevent comprehensive long-term outdoor testing. However, based on wearing, inspecting, and outdoor experience, I provide the following review for this Codoon exclusive windbreaker jacket.
1. Packaging: 5 points. (I hope Codoon will enhance brand awareness and use exclusive packaging boxes with the Codoon logo for its exclusive products, making them look high-end and classy.)
2. Workmanship: 8 points.
3. Windproof and sweat-wicking function: 9 points+ (The front windproof and rear sweat-wicking design concept is significantly different from the common windproof but non-breathable products.)
4. Price: 8 points.
5. Color: 7 points. (Sportswear should be colorful, offering more choices for those who love vibrant products.)
