This is my second opportunity to review running shoes I received from Codoon. I won't say much in terms of thanks; a serious review and sharing my genuine feelings is the best way to thank Codoon!
1. Receiving and Unboxing:
I have to say, Codoon's efficiency is very high. The shortlist was announced on January 11th, and they used the premium SF Express for delivery. Not only was it fast, but the packaging and delivery service were also excellent. The running shoes arrived at my workplace on January 14th (Saturday), and I received the gift when I returned to work on January 16th (Monday), starting my week on a high note.
The bubble wrap protected the shoe box and the running shoes from being crushed during transportation. The design of the shoe box is simple yet elegant, dynamic, and full of Chinese elements.
2. Appearance Review:
Although the color of the running shoes was not specified, I was pleasantly surprised by the pair sent randomly, which features turquoise and fluorescent green as the main colors, with orange and black accents. This is a color I haven't tried before; it's very bright and unique. I have to say, the actual shoes look better than the pictures. The shoes feel quite light in hand, and in terms of design and color combination, this pair outshines other domestic brands and is on par with any of my Asics.
The upper features a gradient jacquard mesh structure, enhancing the shoe's breathability. The one-piece seamless hot-pressing process and elastic film increase the shoe's stretchability and fit, comfortably wrapping the feet and providing a lighter, more breathable road running experience.
The toe cap uses a three-dimensional molding process, which can protect the toes from injury and reduce wear on the running shoes. The toe cap also thoughtfully uses 3M reflective material, effectively reducing the risk for night runners.
The heel of the running shoes uses black PU leather on both sides for support, providing better stability and securing the movement of the runner's heel.
The camouflage color on the upper layer of the BOOM midsole is flashy and one of the highlights of this shoe. The material used is cushioning, which provides powerful rebound without losing energy, making the structure closer to the foot and increasing comfort.
The dual-density midsole uses dual-density EVA material, which can absorb impact and provide effective support and protection.
The outsole of the running shoes, like all professional running shoes, is made of rubber. The forefoot uses lightweight rubber, and the heel uses wear-resistant rubber, giving the running shoes wear resistance and lasting grip, dispersing the pressure on the feet during running.
The arch support area uses a stable TPU structure, which can reduce foot rotation and effectively prevent sports injuries.
3. Practical Review:
Beautiful running shoes, but only your feet know if they are suitable! So, wearing the running shoes and going out for a run is the key. I conducted three tests in different weather and road conditions, which were:
January 17th, 16:54, sunny, test distance 13.15 km, average pace 5'12'', including: 2 km road run, 11.15 km on a plastic track;
January 19th, 18:29, after rain, test distance 10 km, average pace 5'50'';
January 25th, 15:22, sunny. Test distance 11 km, average pace 5'41''.
Based on the above three personal experiences, my genuine feelings are as follows:
1. I really like the appearance and color of the running shoes, and the size is very standard.
2. The running shoes are very light. As a professional 21K road running shoe, the weight of around 230g is still very light.
3. The breathability of the running shoes is excellent. During running, they keep the feet dry, preventing blisters and other injuries.
4. The wrapping of the running shoes is good, fitting my feet well without causing sprains or twists.
5. The support of the running shoes is excellent. During running, my arches did not feel any discomfort, and my feet did not rotate or twist.
6. The cushioning of the running shoes is average. Although my knees and ankles did not feel any discomfort after three tests, as a 21K running shoe, my forefoot started to hurt after running more than 5 km each time.
7. The grip of the running shoes is average. These shoes are not very suitable for running on wet roads after rain, making both my mind and feet tense, and I couldn't pick up speed.
8. The wear resistance of the running shoes is average. After three tests, totaling 23 km on the road and 11 km on the plastic track, the wear on the soles is already very noticeable.
9. The comfort of the running shoes is slightly lacking. They feel hard on the feet, and after three runs, the hardness has improved slightly. Compared to road running, I think these shoes are more suitable for running on plastic tracks.
As the saying goes, a thousand people have a thousand Hamlets. Due to differences in climate, height, weight, posture, and habits, everyone's feelings about shoes will be different. The above are just my experiences and feelings about the Bmai 2nd Gen 21K. It should be said that from the Bmai 2nd Gen, we can see that our great country is rapidly transitioning from 'Made in China' to 'Quality in China.' I also hope that Bmai will continue to improve and develop, becoming better and stronger!
