bimai mile 21k second generation quality makes it look better
NUAA Yonggang
I have been running regularly for more than half a year. My first marathon was the 2016 Nanjing Marathon, with a full course time of 3 hours and 16 minutes. So far, I have worn only one pair of proper running shoes, which are entry-level cushioning running shoes from Asics. This time, I am reviewing the 'Bmai Mile 21K 2nd Generation' shoes. Let me share my experience from receiving the package to trying them on.
1. When I received the test package from SF Express, I found that the shoe box was packed with an 'air column packaging bag.'
This was quite touching, as it showed that Bmai put a lot of thought into the packaging and transportation, making it feel very secure.
2. After opening the package, I found the shoe colors to be very vibrant and sunny. However, I was a bit puzzled that they were in Bmai Purple/Hot Pink, which felt a bit feminine. This is not a major issue, mainly a personal preference, as I prefer Deep Sea Blue/Orange.
3. Coincidentally, the overall style of the shoes is very similar to my Asics running shoes, both having strong wrapping properties.
Initial On-Foot Experience:
1) After putting them on, my ankles felt very comfortable, indicating that the ankle support is excellent. The forefoot wrapping is also very comfortable, so for me, the size design of these shoes is very suitable.
2) They also feel noticeably lighter than my Asics shoes, so the lightweight design of these shoes is well done.
4. In short, comfortable shoes for running are good shoes.
Initial Running Experience:
1) Very cool, indicating that the breathable mesh surface of these shoes is very effective, making them more breathable and presumably very suitable for summer running, as they are less likely to cause sweaty feet.
2) The heel feels slightly uncomfortable. When I stepped hard on the shoes, I could clearly feel that the heel cushioning was not suitable for me, being relatively hard. Especially compared to my Asics shoes, it felt uncomfortable, and I have some concerns about using these shoes for running more than 20 kilometers. After looking up information on my Asics shoes, I found that their heel technology is indeed advanced, using P-GEL technology with a special GEL material for shock absorption. So, I suggest that Bmai could put more thought into the heel material. Of course, it might be my personal issue, as I might not be suitable for the hardness of these shoes.
3) During running, the shoes felt very light, again indicating that the lightweight design is well done.
4) The entire foot, except for the heel, felt very comfortable, so the overall wrapping design of the shoes is good.
5) During the test, it happened to be right after a light rain in Nanjing, so I specifically tested the anti-slip feature, which was also satisfactory, providing enough anti-slip performance.
Overall, Bmai's shoes are well made. When holding them in hand and squeezing various parts of the material, they feel very textured. I not only tried running in them myself but also had a running buddy try them, and we both felt that the heel was relatively hard, but everything else was great. I hope Bmai can consider improving this aspect.
Finally, I hope Bmai's shoes get better and better.
