Differences between Triathlon Bikes and Road Bikes:
1. Overall Design Differences
Triathlon bikes have an exaggerated design and are not restricted by UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) regulations. They can be modified according to race requirements without a unified standard.
Road bikes are designed to be lightweight and their structure is restricted by UCI regulations.
2. Handlebar Differences
Triathlon bikes use aero bars that allow athletes to rest. This design helps athletes conserve energy for the next segment of the race.
Road bikes mostly use drop bars to accommodate different grip needs during riding or racing.
3. Wheelset Differences
Triathlon bikes often use deep-section wheels, while road bike carbon wheels are generally smaller than those on triathlon bikes.
