[Running Club Name]: Codoon Hangzhou Qianjiang Running Club

[Established]: September 2015

[Club Size]: Over 200 members

[Club Base]: North Hangzhou Sports Park, along the Shangtang River, West Lake, etc.

[Activity Frequency]: Every Wednesday at 7:00 PM

[Club Introduction]:

The Codoon Hangzhou Qianjiang Running Club was mainly proposed by a group of enthusiastic runners from the Qianjiang Long-distance Running Team in Jianggan District, Hangzhou. After contacting the Codoon Running Club leader (username: Zou Pao Tai Chi) and official communication, and with the approval of the Qianjiang Long-distance Running Association leaders, the club was officially established in September 2015.

Currently, the main activity of the club is the weekly Wednesday night run, usually starting from North Hangzhou Sports Park, heading north along the Shangtang River to the statue of Wen Tianxiang, and then returning. This route connects the newly built modern North Hangzhou Sports Park at one end and the statue of our national hero Wen Tianxiang at the other. (The classic poem 'Leave a loyal heart to shine in the annals of history' still epitomizes the national spirit!) If the road is slippery or it rains lightly, the run is moved to the track at North Hangzhou Sports Park. In case of heavy rain, the activity is postponed or canceled. Besides the regular night runs, the club also organizes runs around West Lake and mountain runs in the hills surrounding West Lake.

The club adheres to a relatively healthy philosophy, advocating exercise for health and happiness rather than competitive races. In our team, you can run slowly as long as you persist, and we are willing to accompany you to improve together! If you want to run fast and achieve a personal best, we have experts who can keep up with you. Normally, our regular runs are slow-paced to build endurance, persistence, and the confidence to continually surpass ourselves and grow. We strive to create an atmosphere of joyful running, attracting more running enthusiasts to join our group with the charm that our running club exudes. We always believe that where there are flowers, butterflies will naturally come!

Currently, the club has over 200 official members, including several experts with marathon times between 300-330 minutes, successful weight loss examples who have slimmed down from 200 pounds to 135 pounds, and many who initially struggled to run a kilometer but can now easily complete a half marathon. To outsiders, they may seem extraordinary, but as someone who frequently mingles in the club, I know they are just ordinary people with a bit more persistence and effort, and higher self-expectations. At 5 AM, when most people are still in bed, the handsome ones are already running by West Lake and Shangtang River. At 7 PM, when most people are watching TV after dinner, a large group is running laps at North Hangzhou Sports Park or sweating along Shangtang River. These super handsome runners are our most beloved club members!

On September 5, 2015, in the drizzle, 102 runners from three generations participated. Many were veterans from the Qianjiang Long-distance Running Team, with the oldest being 74 years old (team leader, username: Qianjiang Lao Huang, who completed an 11.3 km lap around West Lake in 65 minutes at such an age), and the youngest being over 50. More were young people from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, all with a passion for running. The group photo was spectacular, and the stretching and warm-up activities attracted many sports enthusiasts and onlookers, with many friends eager to join the club on the spot. The opening ceremony and trial run were a complete success!

On September 26, 2015, the eve of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, over 80 participants registered for the Codoon run, gathering at the entrance of Zhongshan Park in Pinghu Qiuyue, West Lake, for sign-in and stretching, attracting many tourists and citizens. Amidst admiration and envy, we sprinted along the Su Causeway of West Lake, with Codoon's green flag, green T-shirts, and the ladies' rose or pink T-shirts forming a beautiful scenery by West Lake.

On October 24, 2015, a week before the Hangzhou Marathon, the Codoon run ventured to the Qiantang River for the first time. Despite the need to take three bus transfers and over two hours from North Hangzhou to the Qiantang River in Xiasha, over 50 people participated. Everyone treated it as a pre-marathon test, giving their best effort. For the first time, there was a hint of competition, with the front runners unstoppable despite calls to slow down, and they even ran extra distance. The biggest surprise was the participation of a female runner with a marathon time of around 330 minutes, becoming a pride for the Xiasha team!

On December 27, 2015, a mountain run in the hills surrounding West Lake was organized. Based on participants' fitness levels and preferences, three routes were set: the strong group, the regular group, and the leisure group, starting from Jinse Nianhua, Shima, and Shangchengdai respectively. The first mountain run attracted many trail running enthusiasts. The different difficulty levels satisfied many runners' desire for trail running. Living in Hangzhou is a blessing, partly because of the hills surrounding West Lake. On weekends, one can leisurely stroll with family or friends to Beigao Peak, Yuhuang Mountain, or Wushan, enjoying the scenery and tea. For most mountain enthusiasts, more challenging routes are preferred, such as the famous 25 km Biaoyi route, the 38 km ultra-strong route, and the classic 17 km summer route, each with a trail of followers!

It is said that one person can run fast, but a group can run far. Let's raise the Codoon flag high and shout: To exercise, use Codoon! Let's follow Codoon's rhythm and run the splendid chapter of life! Because of Codoon, we created the Codoon Hangzhou Qianjiang Running Club. Because of Codoon, we met more and more runners, who gradually became our teammates. Thank you, Codoon, for your companionship, helping us grow strong!

Believe in yourself, with perseverance, we can not only run fast but also run far! Fellow runners, see you every Wednesday at 7 PM!
