a marathon a day he is crossing 4000 kilometers across china
Traveling is a simple thing, and so is running. If you want to go somewhere, you can just go; if you want to run, you can hit the road immediately. When these two things are combined, it turns into an almost crazy idea—Running to travel.Using the most primitive way to deeply explore nature and culture, what kind of experience is this in the context of modern society? A post-80s@RunnerXiongXionghas already set off lightly, embarking on a spontaneous running journey.
"My surname is Xiong, everyone calls me Xiong Xiong, so I push a mother bear and a little bear while live streaming on the road." Leo man Xiong Xianjun was once a sports editor, capable of writing copy and shooting impressive videos. Ten years of accumulated running mileage has made this staunch vegetarian a marathon expert.
Xiong Xiong wrote on his public account Runner's Footprints: "Being able to do what you want is a blessing. I am very fortunate to have persisted in something so boring (running) for ten years. After ten years, I want to make what I love more interesting, so I chose to run to travel. Running is just a means; the feelings, experiences, and stories on the road are what give me endless motivation. I have long passed the age of just challenging myself. After ten years of accumulation, I just want to experience and go through more, to converse with and integrate into nature."
Starting from the Shanghai Marathon on September 10, Xiong Xianjun officially began his four-month running journey. Spanning more than half of China, with a total distance of 4,000 kilometers, from Shanghai to Kunming, Runner Xiong Xiong pushes his jogging stroller, holding his phone camera, live streaming his grand plan of "running to travel" on Codoon at the pace of a marathon a day.
With a budget of only 10,000 yuan per month, Xiong Xiong has to calmly handle various emergencies, running alongside speeding cars on dangerous roads; sun and rain have turned his skin bronze; various harsh weather conditions come one after another, but as long as he can run relatively safely on the road, nothing can stop his progress.
"I don't feel lonely at all, nor have I ever had the slightest thought of giving up!" During this long run across half of China, Xiong Xiong has been accompanied and welcomed by fellow runners at every stop. When he arrived in Wenzhou, more than 40 runners took leave from work just to run the city's distance with him. In Lianjiang County, Fujian Province, a local running group leader warmly invited him to his home and prepared a table full of delicious dishes for him. "Moreover, on Codoon live stream, so many friends chat with me online, cheering me on, so it's impossible to feel lonely," Xiong Xiong said.
Running and traveling, he met different people but received the same enthusiasm and encouragement. "Runners around the world are one family" was repeatedly proven on the journey. This may be the true meaning of travel, rather than hastily made itineraries and superficial tourist photos. Interacting with cities, discovering new stories, meeting new people, and connecting each city with his footsteps, linking more dream chasers.
Having covered more than half of the 4,000 kilometers, Xiong Xiong has reached Guangdong Province, recording every exciting moment of his run on Codoon live stream. The sights and experiences of this running journey will be presented to you in real-time on Codoon live stream.
