As the old year transitions into the new, a time full of ceremony, I received the 'R2 Infinite Running Shoes' from the Codoon platform. Yes, bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, full of energy and a strong sense of mission!
Having previously looked up its 'resume,' I was filled with anticipation for the 'R2' with its 'one-piece flyknit,' 'ultra-light,' and 'breathable' features. Without further ado, let's unbox it.

The box is simple and unparalleled, featuring only the silver-stamped brand logo, giving it a high-end feel (Would it be even cooler if the box were black with silver stamping to match the shoes? Due to shipping, the box has some creases, making it slightly imperfect).

The first thing that catches the eye is a flyer with various marathon scenes and information about the 'R2' brand and product positioning (perhaps a way for this young brand to communicate). Lifting the semi-transparent thin paper, the 'main attraction' appears. First impression: Black, hey~ it's the color I wanted; Simple, with no flashy decorations except for the necessary elements; Light, you ask how light? Weighing in at 201g for a single shoe in size 38.5, will I be able to fly with these on?

Next, a 360-degree detailed inspection:

The one-piece woven TPU-covered hot melt yarn material upper (I didn't quite understand, so I looked it up—it's a material known for its durability, strong resilience, high elasticity, and good breathability);

Flat laces that increase friction (Mom won't worry about my laces coming undone anymore), adaptive elastic mesh tongue;

3M reflective laces for better visibility during night runs;

A lightweight, shock-absorbing U-shaped insole with a thickness of 4-5cm at its thickest point (seems to have a height-increasing effect), and a honeycomb-patterned rubber non-slip sole...
The attention to detail in the design is evident and full of sincerity!
However, on one hand, we all know that a marathon is a long-distance, high-load, high-intensity extreme sport. Any discomfort during the run can be magnified, making one feel irritable and uneasy, affecting both mood and performance, and even causing physical pain and injury.
On the other hand, due to my foot size, it's not easy to find shoes that fit well even in physical stores, making buying shoes a somewhat challenging and frustrating task. So, even holding the shoes in my hand now, my heart is still in suspense. Can the R2 Infinite Running Shoes, designed for marathon running, meet my expectations? Let's give it a try!

Thanks to the TPU-covered hot melt yarn and elastic mesh tongue materials, as well as the U-shaped insole design, the R2 Infinite Running Shoes offer excellent wrapping, comfort, and rebound. The front-wide, back-narrow design gives the toes space to move freely.

After a test run: Whether on rubber tracks, roads, or grass, the R2 Infinite Running Shoes demonstrate excellent grip and anti-slip performance. The breathability provided by the one-piece flyknit TPU-covered yarn material is also commendable. The rebound and shock absorption technology ensures stability during the run and comfort afterward, but as the saying goes, you can't have your cake and eat it too. The soft sole does result in some energy loss during the run. I suppose this is why the 'R2' is positioned as a marathon jogging shoe!
In conclusion, if 10 is a perfect score, I would give the R2 Infinite Running Shoes a 9, deducting 1 point to keep it humble. If I had to give some suggestions, could the shoe's design be optimized for more curves? Could the tongue be thicker? Because when the laces are tied a bit tighter, the instep feels uncomfortable.
Lastly, it's worth mentioning that the R2 Infinite Running Shoes are unisex, available in sizes from 35 to 46, with half sizes available. A friendly reminder—'R2' Infinite Running Shoes run half a size larger than normal, so choose half a size smaller for a more comfortable fit. This thoughtful detail makes me, a picky shoe buyer, want to recommend them.
