2016marks the 80th anniversary of the Long March victory and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

The Youth League Committee of South China Agricultural University, in collaboration with the company Codoon, took the lead in launching an event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Long March victory. They retraced the Long March route in action to honor the Party.During the event, teachers and students were actively encouraged to practice the 'Three Walks' spirit: walk away from the internet, walk out of the dormitory, and walk into the playground. This aimed to foster good exercise habits, highlight self-value, and become models of the new era.

The event was divided into three stages:First, using the May Fourth Youth Day as the opening opportunity, the school held the 2016 'May Fourth' Commendation and the 80th Anniversary of the Long March Victory 'Three Walks' Initiation Ceremony;Next, 80 teachers and students were selected to retrace the 25,000-mile Long March at historically significant red sites in Guangzhou; Finally, the entire school participated in an online event where all teachers and students downloaded the 'Codoon APP' to join the South China Agricultural University May Fourth Youth Running Club to accumulate running mileage.During the event, the online club platform recorded a total of 151 million steps and a total mileage of 105,900 kilometers.

Each site had an 8-kilometer run. Led by Zhang Geng, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Deputy Secretary Anna, and Chen Zefeng, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, the event collectively achieved the 25,000-mile goal.

Whole School Participation, Online Challenge

The school used various channels such as the campus website, public accounts, and posters to call on all teachers and students to participate in the online personal goal challenge of the commemorative event. During the event, individuals who accumulated 250 kilometers of running or walking mileage could receive a 'Commemorative Long March Victory 80th Anniversary' running event certificate. The top 100 members in total mileage could also receive a running gift pack.As a result, a campus-wide fitness trend emerged at South China Agricultural University, with 1,115 people participating online, and over 110 people completing their personal goal challenge.

In this event, the 'Codoon Enterprise Club' provided a data management platform for the event administrators at South China Agricultural University. Teachers and students could check their exercise data and activity rankings at any time, allocating more extracurricular time to complete the event challenge goals.

With both online and offline activities, teachers and students competed fairly. Through running, they tempered their bodies and minds, truly experiencing the hardships and sweat of the Long March, and cultivating and inheriting the indomitable and self-improving spirit of the Chinese nation.
