Q: After a two-week hiatus, 'Minister's Arrival' is back. Which junior minister will we meet today? Let's get to know them.
A: Ladies and gentlemen, I am Peng Yanjie from Sichuan Agricultural University. I have a humorous personality, dislike constraints, and have few hobbies, but I am passionate about running. My half-marathon PB is 1:41. Despite training for two years, my speed hasn't improved, probably because I'm getting old. I can't run fast, which is frustrating, but at least I can persist. There's a saying in the community: 'No matter rain or shine, at least three kilometers a day,' and that's me.
Q: How did you fall in love with running, Peng?
A: It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but I fell in love with running after a heartbreak. During my freshman year at the Ya'an campus, I hadn't started running yet. I would only occasionally go to the track when I was in high spirits or needed to vent. In my sophomore year, I moved to Wenjiang. To cut a long story short, an inexplicable emotion drove me to the track. I ran from 12:30 AM to 3:00 AM, completing 75 laps, which is 30 kilometers. That was my first half-marathon. Gradually, it became a habit, and I even found love through running.
Q: You fell in love with running because of a heartbreak and found love again through running. You're quite the running veteran! Besides finding love, what other benefits has running brought you?
A: I've been running for over two years now, and the changes are hard to describe. But I think the most important gains are confidence and perseverance. I used to be very shy, to the point where my voice would tremble when speaking in front of people. Even with detailed notes, I couldn't clearly express my views. I often had shaky hands and was frequently ignored. Now, whether I'm giving a speech in a packed lecture hall or pitching myself to a group of stern interviewers, I can remain calm and composed. This might be due to the experiences I've accumulated over the years, but I believe the fundamental change is within myself, though my humorous nature remains.
Q: How did you get involved with Codoon?
A: When I first searched for running apps, the top results were Codoon, Joyrun, and YueDong. After some consideration, I chose Codoon because its name is simple and elegant, and its flashy icon suited my personality. I downloaded it without hesitation, and it didn't disappoint. The various high-quality events and online activities made me love it. Through Codoon, I've completed nearly ten online marathons.
Q: As a junior minister, you should introduce your running group to everyone.
A: I founded the running group in my senior year, despite the dual pressures of preparing for graduate school and endless experiments from morning till night. I decided to establish it because, after all, you need to create some memorable experiences during your four years in college. Moreover, dedicating yourself to something you love isn't really a burden, and persistence isn't an issue, especially when you have like-minded friends.
Late-night planning sessions with fruit and Snickers bars, half-marathon training during graduate school prep, three novices pulling all-nighters just for an event poster... There are countless stories, and they continue to unfold. Thank you to all the lovely companions along the way.
Q: Finally, can you share some motivational words with everyone?
A: Don't blindly chase after fame and fortune. Life should be simpler. Keep that youthful passion that makes your blood boil from reading just one page of a novel.
