i am a runner running through beautiful scenery living a wonderful life

The richest man, Wang Jianlin, said
Everyone should set a small goal for themselves.
I also have a small goal.
But my small goal is different from the richest man's.
It's not a hundred million.
It's simply because of you.
I want to love myself more.
When I first started running, it wasn't to run an impressive marathon, to see beautiful scenery, to meet like-minded friends, or to lose excess fat. It was simply to become a better version of myself. I believed that actions speak louder than words, and I wanted to show my child a positive, courageous, and persistent mother through my efforts and perseverance. I wanted to be proud of my child and also become a mother my child could be proud of.
This July, on an evening when I was running alone, I received a warm invitation from a running group. After that, I met many people who love running just like me, ending my lonely running days! In four months, with the guidance, help, and care of experienced runners, I gradually grew from a novice to someone who could understand professional terms and jargon. Through weekly organized runs, various competitions, and private runs with friends, I progressed from 5 kilometers to 10 kilometers to half marathons and finally to full marathons!
On August 28, during my first group run, I miraculously completed my first online half marathon in 2 hours and 18 minutes. In September, I participated in four group runs and one private run, completing four half marathons and a 22-kilometer trail run. My performance improved each time, and running felt easier and easier. From the first time to every time after, it was a transformation!
Jack Ma also said, people should have dreams. What if they come true?! Influenced by everyone around me, I gradually developed my own small dream without forgetting my original intention, which was to safely run a marathon on-site like the experienced runners. So, on October 16 and October 30, I participated in the Chizhou Pingtian Lake Half Marathon and the first Anqing Half Marathon, achieving good results.
Although the Chizhou Marathon was my first half marathon, I wasn't nervous at all. This might be because of my older age and calm demeanor, or because I only aimed to finish safely without caring about the results.
I was even less nervous for the Anqing Marathon because I had already experienced running a marathon on-site. Arriving in Anqing a day early and following the team leader's arrangements, everything was orderly. Perhaps it was this good mindset or the exciting atmosphere on-site, but I achieved personal bests of 2:01:16 and 1:54:16 in the Chizhou and Anqing marathons, respectively. I also placed 57th and 38th among women, respectively.
Experienced runners often say to maintain a sense of reverence for marathons! Yes, that's why I hesitated about attempting a full marathon at the Hefei Marathon on November 12. The biggest motivation for my Hefei Marathon journey was that 30 running friends were also participating. I wanted to experience the big event atmosphere with everyone.
Even if I couldn't finish, it would be an experience, an LSD training session, and preparation for the next full marathon! Since it was my first full marathon, the night before, Master Yan and Sister Min gave me a crash course on what to bring, what to wear, how to take beautiful photos, what to eat for energy, how to eat it, when to eat it, and what pace to run at. The experienced runners were probably very worried about me because my longest run before this was only 23 kilometers. I have so many people to thank and feel fortunate to have met these people who love sports and running.
From the moment the gun went off and I stepped onto the track, I ran at a pre-determined pace of about 6 minutes per kilometer. I didn't lose myself in the crowd of runners. I always remembered that my goal was to safely complete the 42 kilometers. Only those who smile at the end are true winners. After running 1 kilometer, I told myself I had completed 1/42. After 2 kilometers, I had completed 1/21. With this calm mindset, I steadily moved forward.
At the 10-kilometer mark, I met a 70-year-old man from Yichang running a half marathon. He told me he had participated in the Hefei Marathon for two years. Moving forward, at the 20-kilometer mark, I met a 68-year-old man running a full marathon. After a brief conversation, we encouraged each other. I also remembered the 78-year-old man who was still running half marathons and sat in front of me on the bus to the race. Seeing them filled me with emotion, and I thought I should also keep running healthily until I'm old and gray!
At the 21-kilometer mark, I met my running friend Haitao. At the start, Haitao, Brother Hu, and I set off together, but he quickly followed Brother Hu's pace. I continued running at my own pace and finally caught up with him at the 21-kilometer mark.
Experienced runners often say that the 35-kilometer mark in a full marathon is crucial, known as the 'wall.' Interestingly, the 34-35 kilometer mark in this Hefei Marathon was uphill, making it even more challenging. On the slope, I saw many runners stopping to walk. Thanks to my regular marathon training, I had an advantage on the uphill, feeling unstoppable. My pace was even faster uphill than on flat ground, and I didn't experience the so-called 'wall,' maintaining my pre-determined pace all the way forward!
4:17:58.
I successfully completed my first full marathon in the capital of Anhui Province. Although my 127th place among women wasn't outstanding, returning safely and injury-free was the greatest success! The biggest gain was meeting more running friends, getting beautiful photos, and becoming more determined, confident, and beautiful on my running journey.
A pair of running shoes never stops. Using the rhythm of my steps to compose the symphony of running, recording the beauty and life with my footsteps! 42.195 kilometers is the finish line, but also a new starting point. No need for many words, just keep running. The little runner will always be on the road!
